  1. A little spray. However, I have gotten into eating egg white patties instead. I found these at Publix grocery store in the frozen organic food section! They are super easy!

    Does anyone do protein bars?

I decided not to have them. Since before surgery I often ate too much, I fear protein bars would be a downfall because some of them taste pretty good!

    Smoothies

Not really a smoothie, but I make a protein shake with chocolate protein powder, water and a few frozen strawberries in the blender, yum!

    Motion Sickness Question

Good to hear! Makes me feel better about my flight tomorrow!!

    Motion Sickness Question

I have this same question! I have always had to take large doses of both kinds of Dramamine to not feel sick. Flying for first time post op and 80lbs less on Wednesday. I plan on mixing the regular tabs with the chewable as I am thinking The chewables might work better?
  6. I live alone too, though my sister came to stay with me for the first few nights. I had been planning on doing it alone. I also ended up spending three nights in the hospital. The hardest part would have been transportation as the hospital was an hour and a half from my house! I probably would have been ok by myself. But there were a few times I was in a lot of pain and a little scared because of it-it was nice to have her there to help me, bring me Tylenol and just reassure me.

    Regular Meds post surgery>

I swallowed everything as normal from the day after surgery on! First thing they gave me was two tylenol tablets to swallow-which had me worried! Never crushed anything.
  8. I had the same issue for weeks following my surgery, however it got better once I was allowed to introduce more solids in my diet. It was not lactose related for me but did end me up a bit dehydrated!

    Lightheaded

I had the same thing about that same time out too. Saw my dr and I ended up having to get hydration at the hospital-all symptoms went away by the next day. I was drinking the required amount of water but it was evidently not enough for me!!
  10. I take a Multi, b12, D, iron and calcium citrate. The iron is called blood builder-not very cheap but it is good and I use the bariatric advantage chewable calcium which is also not cheap but the huge citrical pills were hard for me to swallow-gag reflex has always been an issue for me though.
  11. 16 weeks post, I have lost 78 lbs so far and I feel great. Today I put together 4 pictures of me from the beginning till now and when I saw the final product of the four pics side by side, I burst into tears. Serious hurt and sadness for the sad person staring at me in the first two pictures. Ugh, a weight literally and figuratively. Really made my heart ache. I am so happy I made the positive change for my life!
  12. Thanks you all! @@leanne1126, I hate it too but I feel that it is theraputive. I definitely don't see it when I look in the mirror, I see the old body! But the face crop in pictures helps and it really hits home!
  13. I slept in my bed from the first night home. Made a nest out of pillows so that I wouldn't move around much but was propped up too. Best purchase was a body pillow I put that behind my back and wrapped it around front under my arms-to help prop me up and keep me comfy. I am a side sleeper, so sleeping on my back propped up wasn't fabulous, but i got used to it and was so tired it didn't matter!
  14. Thanks cervidae and daisee! I am going to create a plan to start tomorrow on a new schedule.
  15. I have been taking a multi vitamin, b-12, and calcium citrate. I now have to add extra vitamin D and iron (blood builder). I know there are certain times of day to take these, some that can't be taken with others, some that can make your stomach hurt. I am Trying to figure out how to add these new ones in. What is your schedule like for taking daily supplements? Do you have something that works for you?
  16. Thank you @@wicked! That is helpful. And yum, that calcium sounds delicious!!

    grieving food

Almost 4 months out. After I got over the food depression, seeing how much others eat has started to sicken me more so. It reminds me of how much I used to eat and what that did to me for 30 years! I still occasionally daydream-briefly-about sweets but it doesn't bother me anymore!
  18. Things I was allowed at the time-no sugar applesauce, grits, oatmeal, plain mashed potatoes. I would bring things that you can eat with you. Just get water when you go out? Eat before or after?
  19. I have no regrets. I can tell you that I have had a lot of anxiety. I made the decision to move to a new state, new job, just two months after surgery, this definitely made it worse. However, I feel happier than I ever have, looking forward to my future with positivity and a new compassion for myself. You sound like you are doing everything you should to prepare. I feel like no matter what I did, not until I had the surgery did anything really stick. Worth every bit.
  20. Tylenol, ice pack, hot cloth, hot shower, close your eyes while visualizing a big bonfire(totally relieves some of the pain in the moment).

Yes, too much! I egg with s little cheese is all I could do. Or a bite of sausage and half the egg. Sorry!

    Fish - Dumping

I threw up the first time I ate Gortons tilapia. However, I think I ate too much of it and that made it get stuck. Scallops and shrimp work much better for me now.
