  1. I am early in this pre-op regimen. I met with the surgeon and was accepted as a patient, the same day met with the scheduler to go over all my insurance requirements as well as schedule all necessary appointments. A week later I attended a dual seminar with a dietician as well as the exercise physiologist. Next up is my first support group meeting. Now down to my concern. At the dietician's seminar we went through proper nutrition basics and she said for now leave with three basic tasks to remember to do now (I'm guessing there will be more details in the future appointments), and they were to start a food journal, include Protein in every meal, and to ensure we have at least three meals a day. She recommended My Fitness Pal, so I've been using that as my journal. I put in everything to a tee, the bar code scanner helps greatly, and I am trying to eat smart. I average 1300-1600 calories a day while following the protein directions as well as limiting carbs. I lost 12 pounds in nine days following this. Without the surgery yet and not taking any supplements, does this sound about right? I don't have another dietician appointment for a few weeks and I probably could make a call to the office but I'm always the patient who doesn't want to inconvenience anyone. Thanks in advance to any insight any forum member may have.
