Hi all just a quick pass-through. Went to my PCP today, all tests are MUCH better than pre-surgery. Still need some time before I'm off all meds, but way better than just 2 months ago! Have lost 45 pounds since I last saw her for the pre-surgery visit :bored:. Julie-how awful for you! I'm so sorry your miserable, hope you get relief soonest. Peas-hope your Dad is doing better. How hard all this must be on both your folks. Hugs to all, talk to you soon.

Hope I got myself signed up correctly :bored:. Look forward to this, my first challenge :smile2:.

I'm type 2, have gone from glip/metformin 2 2xday to 1 2xday, still getting morning readings in the low 120's but after meals are in the mid 80's, so I'm guessing I'll be med free before too long.

Phyl-keep in mind, after you PT you may be darn glad you have your scooter! Also no reason to over stress the new knee. Indio-look at you  all virtous getting to the gym so early lol, good for you! So far I've avoided Mexican food since it's such a favorite. I watch Rick Bayless 'Mexico One Plate at a Time' on PBS, for some reason watching cooking shows helps me be 'good'. Cherie-So sorry your dealing with a down time. I've just reached the point I can stand to 'peek' at my body after a shower....not a great sight rofl, but certainly the feeling better is worth the not looking so great. Peas-sorry about your 'girly' trouble, hope you and your Dr can find the solution that makes you feel like a millon soon. MEN!:smile2: Was watching a McD commercial last night and made the comment 'i WANT a cheeseburger'. All I really needed to hear was 'yeah they do look good on TV'. Instead got this whole 'well make a chicken burger, or get low fat burger and grill your own, eat it without the bun'. NO S*IT Shirlock, as if that hasn't been part of my life off and on for the last FORTY years....sheesh. Sorry about the rant but honestly! Next time I'll just come here to mention that something looked/sounded good. Hope everyone has a bright and happy day, mine started better with the scale headed in the right direction and a nice workout at the gym .

Sweetheart you have to do what's right for you. I'm so very sorry your experience has been so cr*ppy. I do hope you feel like a million bucks before the end of the month, and I'm really impressed with how well you've done so far. -
As long as it's working for you, your still losing, and your not starving 2 hours after lunch, then you should be good to go. If any of those things change, then it'll be time to rethink your lunch choice.

IYSOY-I'm so sorry about the work worries! For my DH it's worries about budget restraints and layoffs. I hope everything works out for you and your DH. Hugs Meredith-whew! Your schedule is amazing. Cute tortise. We used to have a gopher tortise years ago, named Hoover, used to come to be scratched under the chin. Indio-woohoo on your weekend! Sounds like it was fun even if you did have to 'pay' for the experience I too vary my calorie counts daily, I think it helps. Eva-awww babies! Have fun at the quilting show! Mrs B-wow busy day's for you! Sorry about the truck issues. Hope Mimi is feeling much better today. Sounds like a fun reunion for you guys, you did great. Peas-good for you on the trainer. Sorry about the PB at dinner Laura-so easy for the hand to reach for old comfort. Good for you to throw em out. Also never hurts to find out some things just aren't as good as they once were. Bradley18-are you journeling your food and keeping up with your water? Your so close to goal your probably at the 'earn it by inches' phase. 1day at a time-wow sorry about the pill episode! sure hope your feeling better today. Off to the gym for me, have a great day all.

Must everything be sugar free??

What they all said :tongue2:. It's choices, I CHOOSE to not eat high calorie/low nutrition foods. But when I choose to have something sweet, I want the 'REAL' thing. It's choosing the 'right' things 90 percent of the time, and being honest with yourself. The band is a great tool, but reality still is calories in/calories out wins the battle. My question to myself always is....is the taste of <fill in any food choice here> worth the work it'll take on my part at the gym to negate the calories involved? Usually these days the answer is 'no', before the band it was 'gym, what's a gym' ROFL. -
1st fill of 4 CC and kinda scared

Had my first fill yesterday, it was easy peasy! Dr had me lie down with a pillow under my lower back, needle went right in. Then had me stand and drink water, was too full at first and had to have over 2cc taken out. Good experience though, now I know what too tight means, and what the foamy's are [on just water no less]. Overall a very good experience! -
Wow, take a couple days off....5 pages to catch up on! Charlene-ss about your getting stuck...I find I have to make sure chicken breast is moist to eat. Have gone back to brining all chicken before cooking it. Julie-glad Mimi is doing better. Sure hope your shoulder start improving soonest. Have my fingers and various other appendages crossed that you DD gets the job. Cheri-you sound like me...if I have to go out to get something..I won't :cursing: Janet-Wow! Good for you with all those pictures. Thanks for the info, good stuff for our new members, and for us too! Meredith-shake it off kiddo! Each day is a new start. Your schedule exausts me just reading it! I admire you so. Apples-Sorry for you and your DS' all having kidney stones! I have had a few and know how much it hurts. For me switching to bottled water 'fixed' things. Doesn't sound like that would work for you guys  Peas-sorry Nelson had a rough day, was very glad to hear the next one was much better. Ahhh the life lessons we learn on the playground . Biggest mistake school systems ever did was to drop recess! Grats on the trainer, you go girl. I just got my first fill yesterday. WOW is all I can say...Dr was very proud of me though, I'd lost 15 pds since I'd seen her for after surgery visit [and I thought I was doing poorly]. She overfilled me at first, golly pete, foamy's with just water! What a great experience though, I now KNOW what many previous posters have been talking about. Head hunger issues.....still have em think they're pretty permanant. Sometimes I feel SO schizophrenic, can be full and perfectly comfortable and still think <fill in the food> in the fridge NEEDS to be eaten . Ah well, at least when I argue with myself it gives me someone to talk to :waytogo:.

I personally like the EAS Advantedge. Only 17g of protein but also only 110 cal. and 0 sugar. I like the chocolate very much. You'll have to try different ones til you find what you like...lord knows there's a TON of em :-).

Lisa, FWIW my water bottle has become an extention of my arm :-P. I keep a water bottle by my bed, by my computer, and one filled to grab on the way to the gym. To some extent I treat water as 'medicine' and PLAN times to 'take' it. First thing in the morning I drink at least 16 ounces with my suppliments, I drink at least 24 oz at the gym, and I drink at least 24 oz at night watching TV, or reading, or whatever. Right there I've had my gallon, and on top of that I may have a few glasses during the day. It's just a matter of making it a habit.

Amanda, your doing great for 4 weeks, your body is STILL healing, let it. As far as the hungry part, are you eating protein first? Drinking all your water every day? This is a great time to start using what you've learned about lap-band eating, but don't beat yourself up. Keep to your portion control, add or keep to your exercise routine and the weight WILL melt away.....be kind to yourself. Don't let 'other' people regulate how you feel about yourself, this is YOUR journey NOT theirs. You will succeed! I used to spend some summers in Carlisle when I was young, had family with a dairy farm outside of town :-).
