????A shout to the February sleevers ????

I have been walking and moving more and more each day. I'm five weeks post-op, 17 pounds down, exercise asthma and some woman issues already so much better. I have been aiming for over 5,000 steps a day and am now trying for 10,000. I'm impatient and working on that as well. It took me a long time to get to this weight, have stayed here even longer. I need to be patient, it will come off.

    Mobile apps

@@anaxila I have Lose It and love it. I like that I can adjust the calories down for sleeve level. Can you do that for My Fitness Pal? I tried it before and wasn't too thrilled with it. I should try it again.

    "Hair" I am again!

@@CanyonBaby I actually put my hair up in a cap, net or something usually. This way the helmet doesn't pull on my hair. Not as cute as the ponytail hanging. If I wrap my hair around my head, and shake my head as I pull the helmet off, my hair falls pretty good.

food and why I love/hate it.

@@CatKaren I love Genepro! I made a fabulous shake of optimum nutrition chocolate, Genepro, PB2 chocolate in almond milk. It was like having a Reese's milkshake! My daughter and granddaughter liked it! I also like that there are little packets in the bag that you can put a tablespoon in and take along with you. Next up, trying it out in soup. Thanks again!

February Sleevers - how are you doing?

Old habits die hard- I was sleeved 2/26 and have lost almost 18 pounds the first month. My father is in the hospital and I was taking my granddaughter to see him. I stopped by Popeye's (chicken place) to pick up food for my mother, grand and myself. I ordered a four piece chicken meal and a surf and turf meal. What the hey-hey was I thinking? My granddaughter wasn't interested in anything. I ate 3 little shrimp and probably 6 fries and was full. My mother ate the rest of the surf and turf. The chicken meal I sent home with her. In the past, I would've eaten two pieces of chicken an entire thing of fries and probably part of the other meal. It truly did NOT dawn on me that there was no way I was going to be able to eat that much, and it's spicy to boot.

    Strawberry Cheese Cake

I totally agree with @@CanyonBaby and the sweeteners. I too would have the real thing. Although at this stage, I need this type of recipe to have in my arsenal. Thank you!

    "Hair" I am again!

Totally get you on tying back the hair for a ride. My hair is to my shoulder blades and I'm hoping that I won't have to do a bit chop. I bet it looks cute, and sometimes a drastic change is just what you need for a kickstart.????????<<

food and why I love/hate it.

@@CatKaren Thanks for the Genepro advice. I ordered it today on Amazon. Can I tell you that I love Prime. It'll be here on Thursday! I emptied out two shelves in my "cereal/pasta" cabinet and they are now filled with powdered protein- Raw Milk (haven't tried it-heard it's awful but a complete protein), Nectar, PB2 in regular and chocolate, and some other things I decided to try from Amazon. I also picked up a bag each of Gold Standard from Costco in Vanilla and Chocolate. Have to check out the various recipes online...

@tlempke826 sending you fabulous vibes for surgery today!!! Mine was only a couple of weeks ago so I'm still in the ever-so excited stage.

food and why I love/hate it.

@ TammyDTM Wow! I'm 4 weeks post-op on Thursday and will have finished my puréed/chopped phase. I'll start adding in "regular" food. It's so interesting how different surgeons and even those within the same office differ in pre and post-op diets. Meanwhile, I LOVE sweets, okay that's a "used to" now. I too am sick of the overly pre-sweetened drinks. I'm hoping that when I start having regular meals I'll be more enthusiastic about eating. Right now it's making myself get in the Water and Protein. I "think" I know when I'm hungry, but definitely have gotten to the weakened stage twice where I KNOW I needed to eat.

    Needing support

@@TammyDTM @bloniebabs and others, you are so right! I'm three and a half weeks out. I have told a few friends but I'm beginning to feel like I have talked their ear off concerning my daily everything. It's like once you have the surgery, unless they have had it-it becomes you vs them. Especially if they have a weight problem. This is what I am going through and not necessarily what others are. For me, I have some new people in my life who have been sleeved and understand everything I am going through. They know the ups and downs first hand. They along with reading posts here, allow me to feel completely supported.

3 weeks out today really bummed

25 days out. Supposed to be on puréed/chopped foods. Tried baby food, can't do it, instead I'm just chew chew chewing blandish food. It's true, nothing tastes the same. Starting Friday I can add in "normal" food. I'm sick of the sweet dang shakes. Siddi yogurt while sour takes me 45minutes to eat. There was a post I read a bit ago about what people were having for dinner this week. It gives me hope. Normal fresh meals are coming. And I too want fish, but I loved it before-a bit scared that I won't like it as much.

    My pooch is gross

I feel you. But I had twins almost 30 years ago and have accepted that I will need plastic surgery to get rid of it. However right now, I'm loving my smaller body! I put on a Maidenform shaper tank or some high waisted shaper underwear and get my skinnier self going. Get a longline tank for now. The pooch will shrink some...depending on your age and skin elasticity. No hope for mine...but it's ok. Congrats on the weight loss, bet you look fab in clothes!

    Protein Bar's and powder

I haven't had protein bars since before surgery and they got to the point that they were "drier than a fart." I'm on the iPad app and it sucks trying to quote folks, sorry if I got it wrong. I bought Click coffee protein drinks and LOVE them. Premier Protein RTD's and Gold Standard 100% protein powder from Costco they are my standards. Time to add in bars, thinking the cookies and cream ones sound good.

February Sleevers - how are you doing?

This is FABULOUS to read! Sleeved 2/26! DOS 211, CW 194. I lost 13 pounds the first week and then stalled for 11+days. Went to my doctor on March 16th for my checkup and when I told her I was at a stall, she told me "No you're not" and to "stay off the scale!" That was a week ago, I weighed in today and lost 4 pounds. I'm down from a 18-20 to a true 14. I went to the mall yesterday and tried on clothes in Cache, JCP, White House Black Market and fit 14 and even some 12's in dresses.

    hot coffee

Has anyone else tried Click coffee drink with protein? I bought some off Amazon and I'm thrilled with it. The taste is divine and the fact it has 15 grams of protein in HOT coffee, yummy.

Mercy's meetings are VERY hard to get into unless you call right after the Tuesday night meeting. Dr. Fiallo/Dr. McMillian's office are working on getting their own group meetings started to ease up the Mercy meetings. We shall see. I'm in for the March 31st meeting and will find out if there is any news.

What is Your Goal Weight at 5'5

@@brightlife0305 It gave me a giggle to read your post. My goal of 148 is from when I was 18 then again when I was 24 and was in the best shape of my life. Realistic...? I hope so. As I'm finally in ONEderland now, everyday is such a gift.

@@MassMom01527 THANK YOU! I'm 25 days post-op and still have pain up on my left side. I did not know about the "deep stitch". I also have a tender area a couple inches closer to and above my belly button. However, I feel better each day. Spfld area, here.

    Day 2 Post Op

@@ahout831 Definitely taking the meds when needed is a good idea. You actually heal better when you take them, your blood pressure stabilizes and your body doesn't send out hormones to combat the feelings of pain.

    Eggs

@@Slimsoon1988 I ate eggs last week for the first time. I'm 19 days out and supposed to be on puréed/ground. I bought some baby food but I don't think I'll need it. I've been doing the chew chew chew my food well and have not had any problems. I made corned beef, potatoes, carrots and cabbage tonight for St. Patrick's Day dinner. I had the corned beef(flat cut, fat trimmed) potatoes and carrot. No cabbage, I'm afraid ????. Mashed the veggies with a bit of butter and made sure to chew chew chew my fifty-cent piece size of meat. It was fabulous. Took my time, enjoyed the conversation around the table of family and friends and stopped when I felt full.

@@LSF and @tlempke826 How are you doing after your surgery, and when is your surgery? I was sleeved 2/26 at Mercy in Springfield by Dr. McMillian. (Absolutely love my surgeon) I had my first check up on Monday and have lost 13 pounds since surgery and a whole lot more in inches. I was wearing size 18 jeans and they were tight in the waist, I'm apple shaped. I am now wearing size 14's in EVERYTHING. I am SHOCKED to say the least!
