I used FMLA, the doctor has to fill out the paperwork it says exactly what your having done it is on letterhead anyway. But, it is private hippa laws protect you and the only ones that will know are you and the human resource guy or gal. They are bound by law to keep your issues private. FMLA protects you and your job. I recommend you get it.

I am a foodie that got sleeved!
LVGhostgirl replied to Brigiter's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Aahhhh! Thank you! I never thought of natural herbs as healing agents. Tomorrow I start soft solids I won't be so afraid to "spice " it up a bit. You are very knowledgeable about food in general, have you Thought about a bariatric recipe book? In general all about tummy healing in a natural way. I am so new out that I'm afraid to venture out. That's why I was like.. What? .... I wrote down the Swanson Thai broth, sound much yummier than just broth.... super yuck .. lol -

I must say, not to put a damper, but your stomach is like a brand new stomach, would you feed your baby like this? My doctor and team of nutritionist made it very clear to start with basics. The first 14 days, clear liquids only. So your brand new stomach can heal. And the number one cardinal rule was that you cannot use a bullet or blender or ninja. At all. Oh and definitely no spices. I guess everyone's doctor is different from what I am reading. I just have been taught through this process not to drink your calories. If I am totally off base then please enlighten. -

Who's feeling/ felt starved during the liquids stage?
LVGhostgirl replied to bringingsexyback1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Did your dr prescribe stomach tremor pulls, the kind you put under your tongue? It's not hunger, it's your stomach healing. I know what your talking about but I take a pill for it. 12 days post op and those feelings have subsided. You cannot feel hunger because they cut out the gheric hormone when you were sleeved. -
My surgery is the 29th!! I am ready!! I bought my water bottles (22oz) and a (12oz). I filled my prescriptions ... I did not know just how hard it was to get a percocet prescription filled! Seriously! And I bought my starter liquids, just a few to test out my new taste buds after surgery. I do not have a pre-op diet to follow so I'm just eating clean. Wednesday will be here before I know it. YAY!!!

The BEST tasting protein bars are "Premier Protein" love them especially if you don't cook. 30+ grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber 2-3 grams carbs.

April Sleevers! Where are you at in your Journey?
LVGhostgirl replied to CandyCrushVSG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I am new and I am an April Sleever! I finally received my date today April 29th! I have felt like I did not belong any where until today! So hello! I do not have a Pre-op diet to follow just nothing to eat the night before surgery after 10pm. He also said don't gain weight. That's it. I was getting all prepared for a diet, but I think I'll go all protein to get my body into ketosis about 4 days before surgery. I guess that's it. -
After reading so many posts about a Pre-op diet, I was getting all prepared for it. I saw my surgeon this morning and I asked him about it and he said since I was in great health besides my BP and asthma, I do not have to do a Pre-op anything.... Only the night before surgery, nothing to eat after 10pm. Oh and he said do not gain any more weight. My surgery is April 29th, which I got today.
