Congrats on being banded...Keep us all posted! Lana -
BOURGA, it really depends on the type of ins plan you have. Do you know if you have a deductable? Do you know if you are responsible for a percentage of the procedure? For me this will be very costly my doc charges a program fee of 2800, my portion of the surgery is 1500 my ins deductable is 250 my psy eval is 200... I hope this helps and good luck Lana

Hi Miss Maudie, My name is Lana and I have only been on this forum for about 3 or 4 weeks. I am at the beginning of my journey as well. I have aready had the seminar and my 1st appt. I will meet with the psycologist and dietician in the next 6 weeks. And next week I will have my chest xray and my labs done!! ONE MY WAY, congrats and welcome to the FORUM! -
Hey CJV, I agree with the rest of the forum, choose a doc with more experience. Because in the end this does not JUST translate into surgical experice but experice with the band itself, ie fills and unfills and any other little thing that may happen along the way. Congrats of the beginning of your journey, I am right behind you.

HI Laura, a PB is a productive burp = food comes up when you burp.

Hi scruffy, I am in that BOAT that GRAVY BOAT that is...I don't usually have a HUGE appetite but since I started on this journey I just can't seem to help myself. I KNOW I will still be able to eat the things I like and yet...I feel some sort of remorse. Oh, maybe this is a physiological response..not a good bye to the food but a good bye to this glutonous lifestyle...makes you wonder

INSPIRING!!!

DynamoMini, How did that third fill go for you? Just curious.

I know that being aware is only a small part of the battle, but with my band I will be ready for WAR!

Hey Lizzie, I have not been banded yet, but I can't wait. thank you so much for sharing... This information will help me along my journey once I am banded. Things will get better..look at all the support you have...you are normal...and I thank you for sharing your concerns here in this forum. Lana -
I am familiar with the unconscious eating...try starting your morning differantly. Maybe start a dream journal, write first thing in the morning. It gets your mind working and re read you goal each morning it will remind you to start your day right... good luck so many of us have been there.

Why doesn't being "skinny" fix it all?
Lana24 replied to Boo Boo Kitty's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Denise, Yes OA does give you an opportunity to talk about your problems, but then what? I have been there, I walked, I talked, I joined, I ate salad and still no magic... Knowing does not "fix" the problem, knowing and talking help but in the end you are still responsible for the work...good luck -
Why doesn't being "skinny" fix it all?
Lana24 replied to Boo Boo Kitty's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can't even tell you what I would give for a magic bean or a pill or powder...(lol) that could fix all my problems ! But the enlightened truth is that life is a journey, plain and simple. Without conflict there would be no struggle that forces growth and without growth there would be no life...making this all pointless. Just because someone is related to you does not mean that they KNOW the path, or that they are even on the path it just means you share blood. That's it... So with that being said I think it is ok to exclude some people, take others under your wing and with the majority a casual hello will do. I have been over weight my whole adult life and my mother and I had to come to an agreement that my weight was just something we don't talk about. (mainly because she really knows how to sabotage) this was something I had to learn on MY journey if I wanted to keep her in my life. Good luck Lana -

Mine was when my kid (at the time she was 3), saw a commercial for slim fast...she patted me on the tummy and told me I should buy it....sad but true -
Why am I fat, I don't like to cry or hurt people so I stuff it down, I stuff it down until all my problems turn to sh*t (literally)...
