lisalovesfood reacted to Joseph Sanchez in 60 days post-op
I've seen lot of 5 month+ success stories, so I want to share my 60 day success story for those of you who are recent sleevers like me.
I'm down 76 lbs (currently 284 from 360). Before the operation, I was borderline diabetic and borderline high blood pressure. In fact, a couple of times my doctor told me I should start getting on blood pressure meds. To top it off, I had severe heel spurs and my knees hurt all of the time. I felt like eating was a chore, because I was always hunger and always stuffing my face. Well in early November, my wife got pregnant with our first child and I decided it was time for a change. So I opted for the sleeve.
I love my new stomach. I really don't crave anything unless I'm thirsty. I haven't had a soda since the operation and no breads. I can enjoy the foods I like, but in small portions (except for anything with bread).
I have so much more energy than I have had in years. My knees don't hurt as much (They still do from time to time, but it is minimal compared to what I went through before. Not to mention, I haven't met my goal yet.) I have zero issues with my heel spurs. My blood pressure is now 116/70 and my blood sugar is in the 70's. I am biking again and I am never depressed anymore. To top it off, its so much more easier to lose the weight and like I said I'm never hungry.
This is where I'm at now.

I have to share my excitement!! I am 9.5 months out, 132 lbs down (YEA) and my 4 yr old asked me to go to a dance with him at his school!!! He was so sweet, asked if he could take me to dinner then to the Monther son dance. HOW cute is that??
Then I panicked....What am I going to wear!
I went into my closet and found some of my old dresses, they are HUGE on me now, but I have an option, then I had to get new shoes. I can't remember the last time that I wore heels!! so I had to go buy some, My "date" is tomorrow night. he wants to take me out to dinner (his choice is chinese food) My hubby is going to spot him some cash to put in his teenage mutant ninja turtle wallet so he can pay for the date too.
I am so excited to get all dolled up and go out on the town with my favorite little guy!
next weekend my daughter is going to a dance with my husband, she is very excited too! we are going that day to get our hair done and our toes painted, she is 5...such a fun time!!
I hope everyone is doing well!! I have some testing in the beginning of march due to some issues I was having with some pain they think could be spasms...going to have an endoscope on March 4th to check that out as well as a slight hiatal hernia to see if that could be causing some of the discomfort. Other than that doing really well and LOVING the weight loss.

I had my sleeve two weeks ago today and I am feeling great. Just started to look around online today and found these forums, lots of interesting topics and I am amazed at how different everyone's stories are. My story started Dec 1 with cutting out carbs and sugar, then 3 weeks out started the clear liquid diet. Doing ok, but I can't wait for some food to chew. I am now 2 weeks out from surgery, still doing Clear Liquids and have another 2 weeks before I move onto puréed food. I cannot wait for a creamy soup! To date I am down 46 lbs ???? I was down 31.5 before surgery, put on 7 lbs during surgery and have since lost another 14.5 lbs in the two weeks following surgery. I am excited for this journey. I have been feeling good, hungry, tired but luckily not too much pain or nausea but today my right hand side, the incision by the belly button that they stretched out to get my stomach out is killing me. I feel like I have done about 1000 stomach crunches. I'm hoping to ride through the pain and wake up tomorrow feeling better. I'm wondering if it was getting in and out of my car today ... I may of overdone it.
