Ditto. Completely normal. Hang in there. It gets better.

Yes definitely obsessed pre-op and still 3 weeks post-op. I check this website SO many times a day too! I think it has become my new addiction. Not sure if that is a good thing or bad! Congrats on getting closer!

First bad food experience :( - Guess it's too early for tuna
Daisee68 replied to Daisee68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ugh! Sorry! I am told we should try it again in a few days but I think I will pass. -
I took 2 1/2. Wish I had taken 3 1/2 to 4.

Gas-X and heating pad. I even tried a yoga pose called "child's pose". That helped expel the gas when I felt like it was definitely moving. Other than that time....

I have just now used it in puree phase mixed with Protein powder. I think my book said I could have it in liquid phase but only if it was thinned down a lot with milk or Water. That sounded gross to me, so I waited.

First bad food experience :( - Guess it's too early for tuna

I have been eating Fat Free Refried Beans with a little bit of unflavored Greek yogurt and shredded cheese. That has been my favorite so far. Also, the Ricotta Bake from theworldaccordingtoeggface website. It is wonderful! I had scrambled eggs this morning and they stayed down fine but didn't taste good without salsa I usually put on them (and wasn't sure if it was too early for spicy). I have also had sugar free/fat free pudding cup mixed with unflavored protein powder. Still drinking my shakes too to get in enough protein Still experimenting. -
Congrats!!!

I had mine done by my Endocrinologist but he basically said the same thing - unable to sustain markedly improved weight loss. It was pretty simple. If you have only seen her twice, I might make an appt to just go talk to her about this. I'm sure she won't be as opposed as you think. Not trying to discount your feelings, They are real and I would be (and was) anxious too.

What do you use to transport your protein powder?
Daisee68 replied to aprilt10309's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got these at Bed Bath & Beyond - http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/blenderbottle-reg-prostack-trade-22-oz-full-color-bottle/3254880?Keyword=blender+bottle - it has 2 little containers with each bottle and the larger one is just big enough to hold 1 scoop of Protein. There is also a little thing inside the lid of one of the containers that lets you transport Vitamins. Has worked great for me! -
How long will it hurt to swallow?
Daisee68 replied to Rochellevsg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try smaller sips and smaller bites. That really helps. The pain can be from being full or from being able to take in too much at once. And try to slow it down a little. In the beginning, I set a timer and sipped every 5 minutes. You are very very early on and re-learning your new anatomy. When something hurts, try something new out while you are figuring out what that pain/discomfort means. hang in there. I felt MUCh better on Day 7. -
Three days post-op - pressure?
Daisee68 replied to Amylou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like acid reflux. I have been taking Zantac daily since my surgery. It seems to help. You might call your surgeon's office and get it okayed. -
Sleeve and gas pains
Daisee68 replied to xxjosettexx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definitely gas. Walk, walk, walk. And I found the Gas-X helped. I also used heating pad on my abdomen which seemed to help (or at least made me think it was less painful!) -
Back pain when eating and sometimes drinking.
Daisee68 replied to Samkay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. You may be "full". I was on liquid for 2 weeks and only on pureed last 6 days so I am still learning the signs but even with liquid if I drank too fast or too much I would have pain. I ate tuna yesterday and it got "stuck" after a couple of small bites. Intense pain behind my sternum. It eventually came back up and I felt oh so much better instantly. Maybe try slowing down in between bites? -
Week 3 puréed diet, how much could you eat?
Daisee68 replied to alindsey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 3 weeks out today. It seems to depend on what I'm eating. Usually only getting 1/4 to 1/3 cup but then I still seem hungry. Today I got in 1/2 cup of refried beans and it was a perfect amount! Then at dinner I only got in 2 Tablespoons if Ricotta Bake. I wasn't really hungry (had a shake as snack about 3 hours earlier) but I felt I should eat to get more protein. Probably not the best decision but I did put the dish away after I realized I was satisfied. -
light blood spot after surgery - had a hysterectomy. ?
Daisee68 replied to All done's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I passed 4 kidney stones in the first week. (But I have ongoing issues. They were already there but just got flushed out from all the fluids. Glad you got hold of your doctor to confirm it wasn't the surgery! I know that gives you some peace! -
Home from the hospital!
Daisee68 replied to TakeitorSleeveit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Welcome home! Take it easy and sleep lots tonight! I set an alarm and woke up every 4 hours to take pain meds - just in case - for the first night. Didn't need it at night after that but did use it during the day. The sitting up thing lasts probably 1 or 2 weeks but gets easier every day! Congrats and get in that water! Set a timer for every 5 minutes and sip from a 1 oz medicine cup. (Its the only way I got mine down - even did this with my Protein shakes.) Target 4 oz every hour for the first week. Gets much easier after the first week. -
I would love these ideas too! Right now, all I have done is made a batch of Ricotta Bake and opened a can of refried beans to eat on for the week. On TheWorldAccordingtoEggface website, she talks about all kinds of "bites" or tiny crustless quiches. Once I can eat that stuff, I am hoping to make a batch of those so I will have quick breakfasts for the week. If you haven't checked out the Eggface website, definitely do so. She has some great ideas for pot roast, soups, etc. - crock pot meals that can be eaten during the week.

Getting Back to Basics
Daisee68 replied to buffalogal's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am sure others will respond, but I have seen many on here say to do the Five Day pouch reset (or something like that). You can search internet for it, but I think basically it is like the pre-op liquid diet which gets you over the carbs and helps you get back on track. Good luck! -
light blood spot after surgery - had a hysterectomy. ?
Daisee68 replied to All done's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Any chance it is kidney stone or hemorrhoid? I had some blood and freaked out (also had hysterectomy) but I finally realized I had a boil that had burst in the area (gross I know - sorry). -
UGH! I hate these! Just had one recently and it hurt! So, my remedy has been apply heat (either a warm cloth or a heating pad) and it eases the pain and seems to draw the blood out. I also then apply Neosporin. Not saying this is medical advice, but it has worked on mine to get rid of them in a few days. I SO hope these go away after I lose more weight!

Girl, I am so with you!! (Surgery was on June 4 and 14 pounds since surgery date. Luckily more before that!) This morning I decided I had to put my scale away. I am going to try just weighing in on Thursdays which is the day I had my surgery. Join me in putting that scale out of reach for a while!

I am truly sorry you have had that experience. Know that everyone on here will support you, so if you don't want to tell anyone else - don't. Come tell us! We will give you the boost you need!

Bypass 3 weeks out...not sure.
Daisee68 replied to divinemrst's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! Just talked to my therapist about it yesterday. (I am also 3 weeks out today - same weight loss as you too.) She said it is a totally normal emotion - which made me feel better. Just know it is an emotion that comes and goes. When it creeps up on you, try to stay in the present - focus on right now, today, this meal. Have a popsicle. Go for a walk. Call a friend. Turn the tv off. (I don't recommend watching food Network as I have done ) Emotion is a thing - it has a beginning, middle and an END. This emotion will pass. PROMISE!
