i had the RNY on 4/8/15 and lost 70 lbs. but I've plateaued for the past 3 months. What the heck??? Yes, I'm getting my protein. No, I'm not exercising. Other than exercising, any ideas? Have you gone through this too?

I do eat a lot of saltine crackers and juice. They're out now! Great info! I didn't think of that!

No I've lost 70 in 3 months after surgery. But I had a serious complication after surgery and couldn't really eat anything for almost a month. It does help! Thank you, I'm going to try that.

I chose RNY because I have almost 200 lbs to lose and I need negative consequences for eating things I shouldn't. My surgery is 4/8 (9 days!). And things did move quickly for me. Once all the tests are complete and you are cleared by all the peeps your insurance has 3-5 days to process your request. State and federal mandate. I work for a big insurance company so I know first hand. Good luck! It will move slowly but also quickly. And go with your gut (pun intended) about which surgery. You know you best. Keep us updated!!!

I'm having bypass April 1st with Dr Varnell. I chose the RNY because I need to lose 200 lbs and I wanted a procedure with negative consequences for eating the bad stuff (diarrhea, nausea,etc.). Follow your gut (no pun intended). Ask lots of questions. I will be at the March mtg as well. I'll be the short, round redhead/brunette with glasses. See you there!

Dr. Varnell is my surgeon also! As an RN, I researched both him and Dr. Katsis very thoroughly. Both are excellent choices.

Hair falling out/ loose skin?
Janna337660 replied to Brookea83's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My surgery is at the end of March this year, but I am worried about losing my hair and the excess skin. I have 200 pounds to lose and have no idea what to expect from my body. Sure, I've read the posts and have an idea what happens in general - but our bodies are so different between each of us, it's hard to know what will happen to whom. Thank you for this post - I find it helpful and look forward to reading the responses. -
I too am going through Bailey in Owasso. Surgery date isn't set yet but should be near the end of March. I see the surgeon next week to set the date. I plan to attend the Bailey Owasso support group every 2nd Monday of the month (been to the Bville one but it's a long drive from Owasso, where I live). I love it! Perhaps we could form another support group. There can never be too much support.
