Anyone else having knee pain AFTER weight loss
Kichi replied to TRexMom6525's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My surgeon said the reason is that our posture changes as we lose weight, making us stand more upright. So our muscles have to work in a different way to accommodate the better posture. -
I'm 22 days post op and my diet sheet says I can have hard boiled eggs now. I had one yesterday for lunch, not my favorite but it was convenient, and everything was fine. I had another one today for lunch, ate slowly, chewed well, etc and felt fine for a few minutes and then threw up. not much actually came up, but so many heaves. I felt much better after, but now I keep getting waves of nausea. I don't understand why, if anything I took more time to eat and chew today than I did yesterday. Could I be ok with a food one day but not the next?

Thanks for the replies! I have been slowing down even more and taking smaller bites. I'm sure it was just too much on my pouch. The funny thing is that I was at the hospital because my husband just had gastric bypass, so I went to the cafeteria hungry and that was the only thing they had on my diet sheet. This is a learning experience for sure!

It was a small egg and I ate half and then waited a little while to eat the other half. I'm guessing it was too much and too heavy though. It's just confusing that I had the same thing yesterday and it didn't bother me.

I had a breathing tube during surgery, I was out when they put it in and took it out though. I didn't have anything other than an IV after surgery though. I would ask your surgeon because the protocols seem to vary greatly.

I used chewable gas x and that helped enough for me to walk and work it out. It took a few days though. Hang in there.

I just wanted to see how everyone is doing. I got to come home last night and it was so much better sleeping in my own bed! I had a lot of gas pressure, but gasx and walking have help that a bunch. How are you?

Good luck to you both! each day has been better. Today I am working on my liquids, I know I haven't been drinking enough.

I had gastric bypass yesterday and I've had so much gas pressure and pain. They say to walk, but that hurts and all I want to do i sleep.

I am having bypass tomorrow and I'm so excited, scared, nervous, and hungry!!!

My surgery is tomorrow and I am so nervous about not waking up from it and leaving my husband and 19 month old behind. I am also excited to start my new healthier life. I won't let my little one visit me in the hospital because of the nasty super bugs, I've never been away from her so that will be hard.

Day 1 of clear liquid diet, and it's been pretty hard. I'm going to make some chicken broth tomorrow. I like seeing the updates, it helps to know I'm not the only one. lol. Good luck tomorrow!

I start mine on Saturday for surgery on the 17th. 3 days of Clear liquids only. Good luck with your pre-op diet!!!

Help! Insurance changing to United Health Care on April 1
Kichi replied to MaureenVA's topic in Insurance & Financing
I started with Aetna, who required a 3 month plan, but on Jan 1 got switched to UHC. UHC requires a 6 month plan, but the 3 months that I did with Aetna counted toward that. They just want proof that you have been in a supervised diet for 6 months. Other than that, they have been fine to work with, I got my approval last week and I go for surgery on the 17th! Good luck. -
Affordable Bra while I'm loosing?
Kichi replied to brown eyed gal's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I've wondered about this too and think I will just do sports bras for a while. -
Anyone do WLS with a spouse? DH and I are both getting ready for bypass, and we are going next week to schedule our surgeries. We plan to have me go first & then he will have surgery once I am healed enough because we have a little one at home. So I was wondering if 2 weeks will be enough time for me to feel up to chasing my little one around the house so that DH can get his surgery? Also I would love to hear any couples success stories.

Thank you for sharing! How has it been going? I am so ready to just have it done.
-
Congrats to you too! I would love to stay in touch through this journey.

Ambernamber when is your surgery? I'm thinking mine will be mid March. They told me not to lift anything over 25lbs for 2 weeks, my little one is 24 lbs and they thought that would be ok as long as I'm not doing anything crazy with her. I'm more concerned about having the energy to keep up with her and help DH recover. She enrolled in a daycare, so I will be able to send her there whenever I need to. Are there any driving restrictions post op?
