I am 8 mths post-op and I started having the same pain last Thursday and OMG it is horrible. I woke up at 4:00 am with the worse pain EVER since I have had the lap band. I called the anserwing service and went straight to the office,when I called they thought that maybe my port have flipped. I got there and he told me that my band was very irriated and that it was all very swollen. He took out half my fill but I am still having the pains??? Now i am soooo confused, I am not sure if it is REALLY bad hungry pains. UGHH I am so discourged and scared, I just do not know.

I was banded on friday 10/26/07 and went back that monday 10/29/07. I was a little tired but i made it all day. I have a desk job so it was not that bad. I did walk around alot more that week than i normally do due to some minor gas pains. Over all it was a great experience for me. Good luck with your wls journery. Skinny2be kristie

I would also do it all over again. I had a bad reaction to the anethesia and dry heaved for about a week, could not drive for week due to the dizziness, but YES I would do it all over again. This has been the best thing that I have ever done. Good Luck and welcome to the best part of you life.

Ready to Lose: Thanks that is soo what I needed to hear. Men yes can be butts. I like the 30 Rule. That is great. Well I am ready to start feeling good about myself agian. I just wish that people who were not banded could undestand that it is still a battle everyday and just because you have the band it does not all go away.

Hey I am right there with you also. I had my band on 10/26/07 and lost 45 lbs, was soooo excited. I was getting in clothes that I had not worn in forever. WELL I got very sick with broncitis, flu and strep..which is NOT fun with the band. I had to get all my fill taken, my doc thought that I might have done some damage to the band since I was so sick for so long and coughed soo hard. Well it was empty for 2 mths, in that 2 mths I gained 15 lbs. I got a fill on 3/24 and have lost 3 lbs. I have sooooooo miserable with myself and so ashamed. I NEVER thought I would have been the one who "fails" with the lap-band. I am disgusted with myself. I was getting some many people telling my, wow you look great. Now my own husband tells me honey your face is fat again and it looks like you have gained all you weight back. Well that just makes it worse and I just feel like giving up. I am getting a fill tomorrow and hope that I can get turned around for the good. I hate myself right now and the disappoinment in my parents face(they paid for it--in cash) is killing me.

Hey Everyone, this is my first time to post anything but really need some advice. I have been VERY sick since 3/7 and had the flu, strep throat and bronchitis. Well to make a long storey short I have been throwing up ALOT and can not keep anything down at all due to the coughing. I had such a bad cough that I would cough till I threw up. Well after 2 trips the ER, the cough has finally stopped for the most part. Well went to see Dr. Speigel today and he told me that he would take my fill out and order a Braium Swallow to be on the safe side. I of course started crying. I am soooo afriad that I have really messed something up. Has anyone had something close to this happen to them. Please help, i have soooo upset right now. I have lost 38 lbs to date, I had my surgery on 10/26/07. I feel like this is a HUGE set back. :wink: Kristie

I was banded my Dr. Speigel and I am sooooo happy. He and staff are GREAT. It has been the best thing that I have EVER done. It is a new way of living for me and I know look forward to go shopping and going new places. I say do it. I did not have any problems. DO IT DO IT. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. I too had the dry heaves and OMG they were horriable. I lived off of ice chips for two days. I also had a script for nausea, I would call your doc and see if he could give you one. I never had to take the pains meds prior to the dry heaving but I was so sore after that I took it that night. I had my surgery on 10/26/07 which was a Friday and I did not start dry heaving till that Monday and did everyday until that Sat. I was afraid to drink anything or even do the ice chips at first. So I think I made mine worse and got dehydrated. Well just try to keep you spirts up and you will get through it, I promise. My brother keep telling my no pain no gain. Well this Saturday will be 3 mths and I have lost 35 lbs. I feel like a new person. You to will get to that point.
