Pain when eating, What can it be??

Thanks to the both of you! You guys are great!!. I also feel he has too much fill. I have to go to San Diego on business in a few months so I'm forcing him to go with me so he will drive down to TJ and get un filled a bit. He is as stuburn as can be about going back sooner. So I guess he will continue with muchy foods. He's all happy about lossing the weight, but I'm going to call his Dr. today, just so I can have peace of mind. Please do send me the threads, the more I know the better.

Another ? about Mexico for the ladies

My husband was banded with Dr. Ortiz in TJ. First of all, you will love him. I don't like to travel alone, but I have no problem going to TJ. His staff is very nice, once you get picked up at the airport, you won't be left alone in any strange place. You are taken to the Dr. office and then to the hotel. I think they have 2 or 3 restaurants in the hotel (very nice hotel). So if you are still worried about going out, just eat in. The only thing that I will tell you is to take only the taxi cabs that the hotel recomends (I think they were the blue cabs). Just in case you forget something in the cab, they will return it. I also felt safer knowing the hotel recoemnded them. There is also an open shopping mall a few blocks away, you can walk or may $2 for the cab fare. For the clasic MX stuff, go to Calle Revolucion, just carry small bills so you can bargin with the locals and have fun!!

Pain when eating, What can it be??

Thanks for the replay!! Its around the band site. He always has to start with a hot soup or something warm to be able to eat his food. He says that he is chewing to almost liquid, but has this problem with some foods. It's really weird, he could eat steak one night then the next chicken stew (much softer) causes it. He describes it not as much as pain, but more like the body rejects the food and something as to throw up. He says it's ok that he got alot of fill. I'm trying to force him to go back to see the Dr. but he's in TJ and we are in FL, so it's a trip.
  7. :help: My husband got banded in sept. 05, and has lost about 105lb. I am so happy to see him playing with our daughter again and being so much healthyer. But for the las two months, just about everything he eats causes pain at the pit of his stomach. We called his Dr. and he put him on liquids for a week in case or irritation, and he did get better, but it's all back again. I'm just worried the band slipped or something else, maby this is normal. Has anyone else had this problem?? Thanks!!!!!
  8. I guess not being able to drink pop or eat cake and bread is a good thing, it's not good for you anyway. I'ts part of my new way of life. I can't belive it's next week, I can't wait but at the same time I can. Thanks for the support!!!

    12 days away!

Hey there Sunset We are in the same boat. My surgery is in 11 days, on the 24th with Dr. Ortiz in TJ. I'm also exited but mostly scared. Where are you having yours done and with whom? Mr. Thin Man (future)
  10. I have only 11 days to go for my surgery. The nutrisionist just put me on a Glucerna drink only diet until the 24th (surgery day). She said that I may never ever drink sodas again, since it afected the band. Has anyone heard of this before or of any other "eternal" restrictions? Mr. Thin Man (future)
  11. Thanks for the support. We are doing our count down (-31 days). I can't wait to see him regain his health again. I'll keep doing my research on Ortiz, up to now he looks like he's the best. I hope to chat again you with. I wish you guys the best, you deserve it!
  12. Hey there!! I'm also new here. My hubby is the one who getting banded. But since I have done all the research for him (because language barrier). I almost feel like I'm the one getting it. We both feel so nervous, but very exited at the same time. He is getting banded 9/25/05 with Dr. Ortiz in Cancun. Have any of you had it done with Dr. Ortiz in Cancun? or even better, any one schedualed to have it done on this date with him in Cancun too?
