6 Simple Ways to Gain Your Weight Back
Stella S replied to CharlotteKat's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
When I stop getting my water and daily I know I’m on the slope. Best and returning to your successful habits -
When reality sounds like negativity to me it’s time to change. Whether we want to call to reality check or something else it’s a key to go back to what works. Stop drinking choose your favorite healthy foods! It’s really great to hear the positive stories and the community. For many of us it is an every day or more days and not choice. It’s not that the road isn’t hard it’s that it can be both hard and good. ☮️

Life changes so much - good to hear that even after 17 years you are still enjoying paddling and the relations with the spouse! How to remain in a happy zone - definitely focus on everything that’s good!! Five years out somethings are good somethings are a struggle definitely like you I am pleased at many of the things I have accomplished. Not sure what my pouch looks like haven’t seen a doctor since 2015 other than my internist. And other unrelated specialists. The past week or so some of my clothes are a little bit snugger than I would like. This scale still has me below where I was for the last couple years. I definitely feel I’ve lost muscle in the last months. This though is a pretty correctable problem and we do get to choose what we want to focus on. Look at your running marathons how very cool!!!

I hope this finds each of you well and making progress toward new goals or maintaining. Just checking in to see how the last seven months have been.

No idea. You could check in with a doctor and check labs. Do stick with something - you lost it before.

Stella S replied to orange_lily's topic in The Lounge
Best 2 insights are that some things are hard and that is ok. Also that most things change -

Body Lift Surgeon Recommendations?
Stella S replied to FatboySkin's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
None of this is cheap - The person I utilized had a 4 day minimum - I had 5 days at 6 hours at 750.00. For a city with a minimum wage is $15 an hour I really thought this was good. I paid under the table and direct - LPN Also my spouse was with me during the night It was really really really really marvelous for him not to have some of the care responsibilities... as I stated I wish I would’ve done this for my two previous procedures. The Private Duty picked me up from the hospital brought me home and got me situated, Plus helped me with bathing and brought me to a follow up appointment The days were not consecutive. -

Additional note regarding complications -/ The wound associated with the inner thigh lift was covered by my primary health care insurance hoo also covered my lab work and prescriptions for all the procedures. They are very strict and indicate in their policy they cover no elective reconstructive plastic type surgery - yeah they covered the medical clearance EKGs and other preop items. Maybe because I have my primary care doctor perform all those tests labs and medical clearances. Anyway it save me on my original weight loss surgery as well as three plastic surgeries. Just hate that word plastic - LOL -
Your Dr.'s goal weight/BMI for you?
Stella S replied to loridee11's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The BMI calculator is not really a scale that measures health. Seems to me if doctors measure their success by getting others out of the morbidly obese area their success is higher. I encourage you to chart your own course and be your own judge! -
People find reasons for everything. My big irritation is my work has at least doubled and is that kind of work that gives me nightmares at night I am in the office less - My weight is within 5 pounds sometimes more than sometimes less than of what it has been for the last three years - but within 5 pounds. Most frequently people just find the answers they want to find. Sorry because I’m feeling kind of dumpy today.

Body Lift Surgeon Recommendations?

First round - LBL, exterior thigh, bumb reconstruction with fat transfer, stomach muscle, and breast lift Round two arm lift round three inner thigh lift. 11 or 13 hours on the first surgery, then 4 and 6 or 7 respectively. Both hospitals he uses are top notch with extremely minimal infection rates. Finally in regards to aftercare - it was hell. He is extremely good super responsive and I literally got in touch with him at all hours - also he can refer you to personal care nurses. In my final surgery this was super helpful and I wish I done it for all my surgeries. I would consider an Airbnb, with nurse support. They do this all the time so talk with the office staff. Honestly the aftercare part I was nervous about but feel pretty comfortable with. Round one and two went just fine. Inner thigh lift had complications - The complication rate is 50 to 75% and I knew this going into it. I also know that I can be a type a personality when it comes to medical procedures and I absolutely needed a response of staff and a doctor I could reach personally. Once I apologize for being a difficult patient- and he pointed out that is why he gets paid the really big box! Well his surgical skills are good and I like his bedside manner that hospital he practices at was a contributing factor - positive. I would highly recommend getting a consultation and seeing if he is a good fit for you chat with office staff as well. I think the times are right but it’s been a few years - The after care was smooth and even if I wasn’t local I would choose this doctor knowing what I know now. I would do it all over again too. As a note - he would not do the inner thigh left with the LBL as the skin pulls in different directions. The same is true of breast work with Arm lift. -

The scars on my arms are not noticeable and every day type movement but I am still very aware of them. At the beach and yoga class... because of the SAG craving the vertical incisions are necessary on extremely thin skin. For me when running the extra skin was super irritating Plus the same was true for my inner thigh lift. It has been almost painful bump when moving rapidly. Yeah I’ve got some scars like a roadmap and trade I have a healthy active life - it’s worth a trade for me

Joseph Michaels hands down. Get a consult. Plus pics of LBL of males have - hmm male considerations I trust him but definitely get a few consultations and go with who is right for you. -
You will lose with SSRI. I love the above - slow weight loss does not mean permanent weight loss is not possible. Success looks different for each of us Depression managed is correlated with healthy weights. V
