I work in psych - have your psych MD prescribe your psych mess and your WLS stick to surgery I have only seen positive changes with WLS patients and mood disorders. Extended releases are usually out. Also anxiety is normal before surgery I personally was scared it would not go well - it would not work - it would work!!! Best to you on this healthy journey - my bet is positive changes in body and mind.

How are people affording all these plastics???
Stella S replied to swizzle's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hard work and savings. I know my last promotion and bonus would not have happened if I was still 225 lbs woman. That is irritating but I still promoted - LOL -
Not sure can add much. I also thought was worth the price to stay close to home. I consulted several PS and went with one with tons of post weight loss work. Do what is comfortable These Doctors are artists on top of medical providers.
-
A little of both. My PS in the states will not do some procedures together. For instance a lower Body lift with inner thighs. It is asking skin to go n opposite directions. Also an inner thigh with arms as both the lower and upper body is compromised PS combine some prcedures. I was on the OR tableover 11 hours for LVL bum and breast reconstruction. Much small blood vessel work Other docs will do it all and not use General Anastasia Each patient has to find a match.

Let's talk skin...excess skin and scarring
Stella S replied to xoxococojay's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I second cover them with sunscreen Better yet sunblock and a shirt with SPF. Next year show off - healthcare professionals indicate son worsens scars and increases risk of skin cancer. -
Thanks for posting Nice!

Congrats on diploma. Time to dance -
Where you staying? Impressed with your mobility. How long are the vertical insiscions? My PS has stated this recovery is the most in depth
-
Exciting - how long was surgery and was it outpatient? Do you have drains? Heal well

On glue use oil - olive coconut - veggie it does not matter. Dab on glue and a couple minutes later the glue will roll into ball with minor manipulation. Glad all is good 😆

Stella S replied to LumpySpacePrincess's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
You can. ND just differ Some charge if not their direct care. Maybe your internist would. Easier to have the PS do it. -
I was too. It was a bigger surgery Recoveries all the same.

How did you handle changing clothing size ?
Stella S replied to Elizabethtash's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not know about the company during weight loss and saw every sie from 18 to 0. I am not a shopper so hated it - though it is easier when you fit into - anything. Work saw less variation for a year. quote post="4454046" timestamp="1494444489" name="eclecticavatar" userid="310165"] I am also a member of GB! Think of it like Netflix for clothes. For the $100 a month, you get three things at one time. So they send you a box with three things, you can wear those three things as often as you want and for as long as you want. If you only like two of them, you return the third and they send you out a different item to replace that one. If you decide you really love any or all of them, and don't want to return them, you can purchase them, often for a really good price. But why would you want to do that when your size is changing so often? Wear them until they're too big, and then return them. Then they will send you three more things that you can wear as much as you want and return again. For me it has been an amazingly perfect solution for my changing size. The only thing I'm running into now is that a lot of their options are bordering on too big for me, even in the smallest sizes! I will be really sad to see my subscription no longer worth the price, but I will be really blessed to know that I am no longer in those sizes! -
DOMS, Water Retention, and Weight Gain
Stella S replied to Jewelgirl04's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I never had much luck with dietitians. Even my weight loss surgeon office is less than helpful. I personally get wrapped up in the details already know the basics and need the whole picture which was something I could only get myself. My weight-loss surgeon's office did offer me a job - LOL. Oh I am in my early 40s and I have been between 118 122 for eight months after WL surgery April 2015. I too am active and eat in the tween 1600 and 2000 cal each day - sometimes depending on exercise much more. One weird thing is I eat so much more now than I ever did pre-WLS. -
Yes I have a TR modified with cycle assist - well technically it is my spouses bicycle I have ridden it though! It makes us biking together possible because of his health complications We have to learn how to keep building experiences together to stay together This is one way we found to enjoy an active life

So much to celebrate. I thunk when good happens it multiplies. Keep the focus on the good. Best to more and more celebrations

Feedback: Breast Lift with or without implant? Do you regret the lift without the implant and why? Thanks!
Stella S replied to CrazyJaney's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I lost density. Think deflated balloons. I was still in an F cup - DDD but it was not breast tissue. I got the lift with reconstruction -

Where do you see yourself Long term
Stella S replied to Deactivatedfatgal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try 2: I will be six months from retiring. I think my life will be pretty much the same. I have an amazing job I imagine I'll get a couple promotions - I never fully appreciated how much underline prejudice there was when I was overweight. I will enjoy in country vacation and out of country vacation with my spouse each year. A few more laugh lines I will still be biking hiking and running. All my kids will be adults in 5 years - I am not thinking grandparenting but I could see that sometime in the next 15. I will be 58 - full of life. Active I want to make sure I am active. Mostly I know life can change in the beat of my heart, I want this moment. If not here I am Magent most of us will be somewhere - w need people and this is a lifelong choice. I am not sure the fear of losing what I have gained by losing 100 lbs will ever completely go away. -

Bring a rope something the buttons up the front perhaps as sleepwear and slide on shoes too! -
I lost weight following plastics. I stayed within 118-123 range. I was not very hungry and likely lost muscle. I really ate pretty much what I wanted to plus Popsicles. I had multiple procedures and protien goal of hundred grams for 6 weeks. I too was really freaked out about not exercising and once I started I strained my stomach muscle which set me back exercising another four weeks. I ate a lot of my usuals cheese nonfat yogurt nuts fish vegetables keeping sugars as low as possible. Now 5 months out from plastics round one

Are you looking into inner thigh, outer or a spiral type procedure?

From Weight Loss To Maintenance Stage
Stella S replied to Redmaxx's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My Doc sets goal high in my opinion I am in the middle of normal. I also listened to my internist closely. Switching to maintenance has been the scariest most difficult part! Glad you have a group to see you through!
