Go to next appointments then ask for more clarification As you see more docs you get a better sense of what to ask in consults

Getting ready to complete the journey
Stella S replied to jkppt's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hope you are well -
Once you make a choice you can ask the PS to price match. Docs give discounts if schedules are not full. Some include multiple compression garments while others let you pick up that cost. The fees of Hospitals are less negotiable

Old clothes? What did you do?
Stella S replied to AZBlackhawk's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Sell them. Donate them to a shelter or other non profit and keep for tax deduction. Give to friends! Replacing clothes was an expense I did not fully anticipate. My work necessitates a fairly specific dress code. Also there is a clothes change on this. site. Best! -

I am really glad you're getting multiple quotes and evaluating the pros of the surgical center or an operating room aim a hospital. All my quotes were fairly competitive but I did not consider any surgeon that did not tell me how many times each year and for how many years they perform such surgeries

23 k for LBL and chest? Are they doing thighs? Would it be one at a surgery center that has no beds or at a hospital? Personally I needed a hospital but my surgery as 11.5 hours. I needed fluid and to ensure I could void urine. I did not have thighs done and stayed 1 night About 23 k with 1 night in hospital costing 1 k. I had breast lift and bum work as well as LBL and outer thigh lipo Go with the PS you feel best with. For me I wanted the operating room at the hospital as I have a few health conditions Also you may be able to file a claim with your insurance check your policy.

YFile a complaint with the licensing board for the healthcare professional that performed the study carbon copy your VA doctor the patient advocate at the VA as well as the clinic that perform the sleep study. Failure to provide test results falls under neglect in the last couple years the VA has gotten such bad press it seems the care should have increased. My experience with my husband has been positive at the VA but that doesn't seem to mean they can give him a diagnosis ora cure. Neither can public private educational institutions

The numbness is not a big deal for me on my tummy. I am concerned at future impact in more regions. I am debating if I am just more prone to this. What I see on the web is mixed and not connected to multiple procedures

At 6 months post plastics I have regained feeling in breasts and bum but little between my belly button and incision on my stomach MI plan to have inner thigh lift but I'm concerned with pretty persistent numbness what have been your experiences with various plastics and nerve damage? Nerves grow so slowly and sometimes not at all!

Yes swelling and fluid giv it months. I suggest touching base with MD about machine.

A diagnosis is a label. I hate labels - a statement that a person is not normal. One of my patients once told me - it is not that I am different it is that most of the world is only ordinary. I love that statement Congrats on stabilizing and being so much better

Nice it took me 25 days to return to work I think 5 weeks is better. This is so much more than say a C-section. I am excited for the positive changes. VA has some nice parts [emoji3]

I know. Hospitals in USA spend a ton on accreditation and inspections - it is expensive I do not know other places but One could look up their accreditation entities and review the standard of care

"Me time" with kids!?
Stella S replied to RedOrangeSunrise's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
One of Mine does not eat veggies and the other one doesn't eat fish. Enough! My stress go to is perfume and essential oils. Find a treat that is not food. -
Different answers for everyone! Find what works for you. Regulations drive.the USA costs plus local markets For PS so my urban R was likely more than a less populated space. I stayed local and saved by bundling procedures. Skin work is a lot of small blood vessel work. Not simple with muscle and neuro involvement You know your body and any associated need for near by follow up. Good luck

Congrats on your health. WLS vet or military vet? Both?

"Me time" with kids!?
Stella S replied to RedOrangeSunrise's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
A new reality. So for me I changed cooking and realized I have to take the time for me. Come for a walk or to the YMCA but a as family we had to do better A role model moment. The world continued. I still feel at max capacity most of the time and my dining room table is littered With streusel Their junk can not be my jam - strawberry ice cream is OK I will not let Rocky road in the house. Somehow it worked out and we are all a little bit healthier -
I eat about 50 percent protien and 30 percent fat - all else can fall in place. I eat about 1400 to 1600 calories each day - sometimes more if I am extra active. I am at goal
