Sad about missing food
AmyC007 replied to Mcgann320's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I often will get frustrated at the fact that I can't eat as fast as others do. I will be hungry and just want to eat at the speed of my hunger. I think I need to start eating healthy snacks during the day so I don't get so hungry at dinner time. It is a battle and will be worth it in the end. This too shall pass. -

Sad about missing food
AmyC007 replied to Mcgann320's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sad about feed in the few weeks after post op. Now at 3 months I am attempting new foods. The only thing is that foods I used to love now turns me off. It might change. I'm trying not to eat bread because it fills you up. For me, once a food addict. Always a food addict. One Day at a Time... -

Turned off by food you used to like?
AmyC007 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you ever been turned off by food you used to like after post-op? Example: I tried to make a deli roll up and only ate half of it. I don't care if I have deli meat again. -

I have been in a gastric sleeve program for a year and a half. I was all gung ho to lose some weight in the beginning to reach my pre-op weight. As time went on I started eating out at lunch by myself and made some wrong choices. I now weigh more than I did when I started to program, My pre-op goal weight has since changed. I am now close to that weight which is promising. However, it seems the closer I get to my pre-op weight, I sabotage my efforts with food and end up gaining weight. I think subcontiously I am trying to avoid surgery. I really need this surgery to help with my diabetes and other health problems which I am aware of. Yet I am stuck in the mud. Can anyone relate to me?
