I had a Vsg revision to bypass on 03/23 I’m feeling okay there’s more pain this time around. I am able to sip liquids okay but the purée are not sitting to well. They’re waiting on signs that my bowels are active again then I should be discharged.Good luck and speedy recovery to all March Surgeries 😊😊

Hi all I've recently had my final blood work done prior to surgery and they found I have low iron/ hemoglobin levels. I was put on Iron supplements and had my levels rechecked and they haven't risen appropriately. So my experienced sleevers will this delay or stop my surgery?? I'm so nervous I've scheduled time off, and turned in my paperwork for time off

Yaay surgery day is tomorrow

Hello all, Surgery went well, I stayed in the hospital for two days due to severe nausea. I went home the third day, in a lot of pain and very tired I'm about 10 days post op and all is going well. I'm down 19 pounds so far, I am still struggling to get all my Water and Protein in. I have been on full liquids since my discharge from the hospital. I have a check up tomorrow I'm hoping to be moved to puréed foods soon. Thanks for you prayers and well wishes -
????????I finally got the green light to go ahead with my surgery. I'm nervous and excited all rolled into one I feel like this is a dream and that someone is going to wake me up lol. I've had so many set backs with iron deficiency and low blood levels, but by following my physician advise I was able to turn it around. Please everyone keep me in your prayers during my procedure tomorrow. Thanks in advance ????????

Federal BCBS paid for my sleeve 100%, minus the copayments for the hospital and my surgon!

Is that upfront or billed cost? And do you have basic or standard? -

Ok I've been following this thread for a while and I have been approved and my surgery date is June 2nd. Did anyone have to pay anything up front or were you billed for it later? I'm really nervous about last minute cost -
Best of luck and prayers for a speedy recovery

After months of setbacks, frustration, and stalls I'm finally moving forward June 2nd is the date that will change my life. I'm excited, nervous, and scared but I know this the best decision for me. I wish I had made it sooner and not wasted most of my adult life morbidly obese.

So I've finished all my prerequisites for federal BCBS and all paperwork was approved. The last step was a sleep study, I thought no problem I don't have sleep apnea. My husband told me I snored by I have severe allergies and thought it was attributed to that. So sleep lab calls and says I have very mild apnea. Has anyone ever heard of "very mild apnea?" So I am now being required to start a 3-4 week cpap compliance before I'm even given a surgery date. Uggggh so frustrating, wouldn't losing the weight eliminate the need for cpap in the first place?? Has anyone ever had this type of ridiculous delay??

Delayed surgery date rant

thanks everyone, I'm just a little frustrated with how it seems as if I'm nearing the finish line just to be sent back to the midpoint. I'm want to start my journey and not just keep sitting on the sideline. I met a young lady at my initial consultation 6 months ago, I recently went in to have labs drawn and she's already 3 months post op. We have the same insurance as well, I know our cases are very different but it's just a little disheartening to see where I could've been by now without all the delays... -
How do I check claim status for fed bcbs
sugabear_440 replied to sugabear_440's topic in Insurance & Financing
Ironically I just got a call from a nurse coordinator and she told me I was approved... I have mix of emotions right now, happy, nervous, scared, excited wow just wow -
Hello all I've read a lot of you all saying that you can check your claim status to see if your surgery is approved or not how would I do that? I have finished all my requirements for surgery but haven't heard anything from my bariatic coordinator

Hello everyone, I'm still in the early stages of wls. I had my surgical consult and psychological evaluation on the same day is that normal? I've started my medically supervised journey. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I haven't told any of my extended, family or co workers. I just told them I'll have to be off in the summer or fall for hernia surgery. Can someone tell me the length of time from pre op to the actual surgery? I'm trying get a feel for when I should put in paperwork to request time off work

Thank you for your words of encouragement. I've been heavy my whole life and was told by my family that I should just accept my size and that my whole family is "big boned" but I want to be healthier for myself and my children, I want to be around to watch them grow up. I know I'm making the right decision
