theskinnyone replied to kyrickchick64's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on the same day. I have lost 35lb and i am presently in my second big stall. Here is my moto " i may be losing slow but i am losing for life" -
I felt the same way. One week post op I said to my BF ( who had RNY 2 yrs ago and has lost over 150lb) what if this doesn't work for me? She said what a good friend should say " your crazy you had 80% of your stomach removed you will loss weight ". When I start to freak myself out about slow wt loss I think follow the plan it has worked for others it will work for me/you.

Not losing anything? ?
theskinnyone replied to tnf0920's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stopped loosing wk 2. I am now at 4 1/2 wks and have lost 2 lb in 2 1/2 weeks. I am staying the course and trusting all you experts who have been through this already. -
I am 4 wks out and would NOT try popcorn. Have you tried turkey pepperoni... If you microwave 5-10 sec. They are like chips. I would not eat many at your stage but a few could be a movie treat for you. Part of this process is making better choices... And yes some days that is really hard ...

theskinnyone replied to js1234567890's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes i found wk 2 and 3 to be really emotional. Once i was feeling better it set in that i could not eat. I am not complaining... It was just surprising to me. Hang in there. -

I'm done going through this procedure
theskinnyone replied to humblestar25's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I wish you the best of luck. As we all know surgery is a tool to loss weight but not the only way to loss weight. I made the choice because I need to make a permanent change. While the process is extensive it gives you the time to really think about what a major decision it is. -

OMG pain! 36hours post op
theskinnyone replied to Hertsukfem31's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Are you having the pressure/ pain in your shoulders? That is so painful. the only way to help is to get that trapped air out by moving around. I did heat and walking. Also try laying on your left side. Hope you feel better soon. -
I resumed wifely duties????12 days post op. We had the rare chance to be home alone. No "issues" during or after. That should count as exercise ... Right? Lol

I don't know how to cope with this extreme depression
theskinnyone replied to onelove51510's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Candice you have the support of everyone here. You are not alone. It sounds like you have depression and are struggling. Please find your local resources and get help. I have been in that place. You have come so far. -
I am a 40 yr old mother if 2 amazing kids. I have been married to my husband for 15 yrs ( I almost have him trained????). I am a pediatric nurse. I was banned11/11. Lost about 50lb but never found the "elusive sweet spot". The last year i had the band was awful. The port had migrated to under my ribs and i vomited all the time. It was too tight and that was my fault for pushing for more fill.... Hoping for more wt loss. Band removed 11/14???? and sleeved 3/2/15. It has been a long journey with a lot of self discovery.

My two year surg-iversary!
theskinnyone replied to Virginiarosew's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You are a inspiration -
I had my band removed in Nov, recovery went fine but i can still only eat small amounts at a time (small compared to what i could have eaten before the band). I assume my stomach has become smaller. I am having vsg in 10 days so i figure i am already prepared for smaller volumes.

Had egd done yesterday waiting to find out if i have H pylori. My Dr said if it is they will treat with antibiotics. He said it should not really affect the surgery. They found an ulcer and i am starting protonix.

Is anyone else having surgery on 3/2? Would love to do this day by day with someone else.
