    Vitamins

The PA at my Bariatric Center felt the same way as you about the Celebrate Vitamins. She suggested using Flintstone's chewable with Iron. Take 2 a day. They are not bad at all. Not a gummy but much better than some of the other Vitamin options!! I was told I had to have vitamins with iron so that really limited the options.
  3. @ Love the sleeps count!! 4 more!! We are almost there! Sorry you are having a rough time. Wish I had some wonderful wise words, but I can only tell you to hang in there. Here you are wanting to toss your veggies and I would LOVE to have some! I have a decent variety of high Protein bariatric food products available to me as long Im within the 800 - 900 cal range and get a minimum of 65g of protein, but I am not allowed to add any veggies or other foods at all. I would kill for a steamed anything at this point!! lol We can do this! I will be praying for you! @Doll64 I had a couple rough days with the pre op diet, I guess my only stress was being worried that I wouldn't be able to follow such a strict diet. As far as being nervous about the procedure and if Ive, made the right choice, Im, not stressed or nervous at all! I know I have made the right decision. Ive been praying and researching myself silly over the last year and am perfectly confident in my choice. Im not afraid of the actual surgery at all. I work in the hospital where I am having the procedure and its wonderful to be in the hands of people I personally know. I am blessed. I have had several other surgeries so there won't be many surprises for me! If there's something wrong with you then Im right there with you!!

    Pre-Op Diet?

My insurance required a 6 month medically supervised diet before they would approve me. After that I am now half way through my 2 week Pre-Op diet required by the surgeon. I am on a High Protein, 800-900 calorie diet using only the food from my Bariatric Center. There is basically all kinds of special high protein foods available to me, prepackaged dinners, chips, Cookies, Jello, puddings, Soups, shakes, teas, cocoas and protein bars! I never knew there were such protein food products out there! I cannot add any "normal" foods. strictly their products. When I saw the calorie amount I expected to be starving, but because of the high protein levels I am not really hungry. The first couple of days I was "mentally" hungry, but that has subsided! As a vegetarian who tries to stay away from processed foods this diet feels very odd. But its only 2 weeks and I have one down! Good luck on your journey! As BLERDgirl said, check out all your options, Ask lots of questions. I also ready a couple of books on the VGS procedure. The more you know the better it is for you!
  5. @Sophieteel We are scheduled for the same day!! Im so excited. I work in a hospital so I know that some feel pretty rough for a couple of days but on the flip side, some do not! The leak test can be nauseating so I hear. We are all so different in how we respond to things! I refuse to borrow trouble, so to speak! I am determined to stay positive. I have prayed and consulted, pondered and thought myself silly preparing for this day. I know God will be with me giving me the strength to get through what ever comes my way! I will be thinking of and praying for you, Matida , abutterfly15 and minniegirl & Newlife@55 too! @JenStaes So glad you are doing well!! As far as exercise I would totally let your surgeon determine when and how to resume as we all recover and heal at a different rate. For the food logging, it has been mandatory for me from day one to document everything I eat & drink, as well as what exercises I do and for how long. I have had to print them off and take them with me to every appointment. This applies to my Pre-Op diet as well. I have to take them to my Pre Surg visit this Wednesday! I am using My Fitness Pal to log everything. It is very user friendly and also has a social community with groups. I have connected with the Bariatric groups on there also. There are a LOT of Bariatric patients using this app. If any of you would like to add me as a friend please feel free! I would be nice to keep in touch with all of us being Sleeved so close together! Take Care ladies We can do this!!

    This may sound silly...

Its not a silly question if you have never had a surgery! The answer is yes. You will be asked to remove all of your clothing and they will provide you with a gown and non slip socks. Good luck on you Surgery!

    Any February Sleevers

@VGB Im sure the delay is disappointing! I truly believe there is a reason for everything. Due to insurance changes where I work my date was changed also, making me wait 3 months! Now it is almost here and looking back I'm glad I was delayed! I have a much better grip on mental hunger! So now we will be having ours on the same day! Will keep you in my prayers. P.S. As for that Valentines day thing.... I'll be having with lots of non food related fun with my hubby too! Take care! We are almost there!! @Marge1927 & @borg/assimilated Congratulations! Hope you guys are doing well!

    Hey Sleeve Weavers! Feb 2015!

Just a few days away from staring my pre-op diet. Surgery is scheduled for Feb 16th! I think I'm more paranoid about the pre-op diet than the actual surgery. I have 2 weeks of eating a specific products purchased from our Bariatric Dept. There is a wide variety and I'm sure it will be fine BUT.... If I don't lose weight they cancel the surgery.. In writing this I see how silly it sounds but I can't seem to shake the feeling! Could use some prayers!!
  12. I know every insurance is a little different. I was required to have a 6 month documented period of medical supervision. It was required that I had a Dr appointment once each month. I also had to have written, detailed, daily food and exercise diary for the whole 6 months. It was also required that I showed and maintained a weight loss. Didn't matter how much as long as I didn't gain it back. I also had to have a document from my Dr stating that he had worked with me on weight loss for those 6 months. I wasn't aware they would need the food diaries. Thank goodness I used an app called My Fitness Pal. It saved my butt! I was able to go back and fill out days I had missed and print them off. No matter what the requirements are you can do this! If this is truly the right course for you and you are committed, You can get through it! Don't be discouraged! Your Bariatric surgeon's office will be able to help you figure out the details of the requirements and help you fulfill them!

    Who Are You?

Hi I'm Lori. Just joined today! I am a Christian and truly trust in God's plan and timing for my life. Prayer is as essential to me as breathing! I'm David's wife of 6 years - been together 10. Mom to Celia, Tanya and Tabitha, Nana to Autumn, Alexis, Addison and Braedon. Love my job as a switchboard operator at a hospital, been there 10 years! David and I love to take rides our Honda Goldwing when the weather allows and we spend most of our weekends off just enjoying the beauty of Michigan! My hobbies include walking, reading and spending time with my family. I love purple, dislike pink and cannot imagine a world with out coffee... Yes I know I'll have to give up caffeine for a few weeks. Fortunately I've found a decent tasting decaf to get me through! Life is a gift. I am here because I do not want to let my health and/or weight issues hold be back from enjoying life to its fullest.

    ecouragement and prayers are needed

I understand how you feel. I was just approved and scheduled for Feb 16th. Those 6 months can feel like forever! My insurance co required that I did not gain any weight during the 6 months which was a new criteria just prior to my entering the program. They are all different and they all make changes which makes can make us nervous. Just keep praying and trusting in God's timing! Don't let any setbacks discourage you! Will be praying for you!

    A bit sad and worried

I'm scheduled for Feb 16th also! There will always be those who roll their eyes and make it clear they don't approve. They have not walked in your shoes, so don't let them influence your decision. It's hard when those we love do not come along side of us, especially our moms. I will be praying for you. Keep what's best for you in focus!
