How did your visit go ? I got my date for March 23rd - so excited !

Well the Doctor was very nice, very confident that the sleeve is the surgery for me. He set my goal weight at 150 pounds. Then I went to see the NUT and she comes back saying that they are not sure if my Medicare Advantage plan covers the surgery. Now mind you I've already talked to the office coordinator several times, she sent me a packet in the mail etc. Also I got the surgeons name FROM my insurance. She says that she thought I had traditional Medicare. Now I told her what I had but despite that Medicare AdvantGe Plans have to cover everything regular Medicare does. So she goes to call the insurance and I say I'm not going to have the consult with their NUT until I find out. So the office coordinator cones out and says she talked to "Janie" in customer service who says there is a rider on my plan and they don't cover WLS. So again I tell her that they told me they do. So she says "maybe they cover it if it's medically necessary" - DUH. What insurance covers it if it's NOT medically necessary?! So back she goes to call them AGAIN. So I call from the waiting room as well and they say it's all been taken care if. She comes out and says she justs needs medical records from my PCP from the last 2 years for my comorbidities to submit to them. She says they asked for "Janie"s name to report for the misinformation. Now what if I had just left because this incompetent office coordinator said my insurance didn't cover it?

So i am going to repeat my sleep study because it is 7 years old on Monday and give it to Moron Office Coordinator as 1 of the 2 comorbidities I need. I don't think she can handle information gathering on her isn.
