About Me

Hi, my name is Nancy and I am beginning (again) my journey to weight loss.  I am 67 yrs young, so Medicare wants me on a 2 month supervised diet which I started with earnest this past Monday. I am planning on the Sleeve surgery the middle of March.
I haven't found the diet to be that difficult yet, the drinking fluids after my meals was hard at first but I'm getting used to it now.  Cutting out carbination was a struggle at first but I'm hanging in there.  The no caffein wasn't hard as I don't drink much coffee.
I also joined a gym, for me that was a BIG step.  I have a trainer 2 days a week which helps.  He is working on strength training as my legs and upper body are weak, wow are they weak!  I have a recumbent bike at home that has been idle for some time, guess it's time to rev it up again!
I woke up this morning with a UTI and had to call my primary Dr. for meds. Can't work out this weekend, just not feeling up to it, but will stay with the diet.
I want to lose weight so I can walk my dogs without panting, not feel like a beached whale in bed, and have pride in the way I feel. My back and legs hurt all the time, partly because of arthritis and because of this extra weight I'm carrying.
I am a professional violinist who has had to cut down on playing gigs because it just hurts to get to the venues.  I still play at church and I teach violin and viola at home, which is my joy.
I just want a better life for myself in my retirement years!
