  1. Just got the call that they're going to supply me! My surgeons office just needs to fax back a signed prescription. I'm excited! She said they're sending 4 cases of the premier protein enough for 2 shakes per day. Idk if that means monthly or if it's a one time deal but I'm grateful either way! Everyone really should give this a go you never know what your insurance company will cover. !
  2. My doctors paperwork says 3 weeks and to be extremely diligent about BC

  10. Saw him for an initial consult dec. 18 surgery will be feb 23rd so almost two months from start to finish. But I rush through all my pre-op consults it really just depends on how fast you can get those appointments done.

    New York Bariatric Group

I got my surgery date today! February 23rd, I am so excited. It will be single incision at mercy.
  14. I agree, the doctors in the city are the best in the world, people travel here from all over the world i think you can find a doctor that is confident the surgery can be performed even with your past medical history.
  15. Excellent question they have a few different options im not sure yet. I think it will really depend on where I can get the earliest date. I refuse to do a surgery center, if something goes wrong I worry about not being in a hospital which has a lot more resources. But that's just my opinion.

    Gastric Sleeve and PCOS

What are you doing to combat it? My hair is currently falling out in clumps! My endo has so answers other than stress and I know the surgery will make it worse. I started taking 10,000 ius of biotin as of this week and using mane n'tail shampoo. I have resolved to the fact that I will probably have to cut my hair short a few months after surgery. As much as I love my long hair I want it to be as healthy and thick as it use to.
  19. I know I am. I had my initial consult dec. 18. Tomorrow I do pulmonary and endoscopy at the surgeons office and then they submit to my insurance.
  20. I think those responses are great. Perhaps up your Protein intake with just one shake a day? Or get the unflavored and add it to something you normally eat? Hope the doctor has some answers for you!
  21. I'm actually really looking forward to this side effect! I have MS which causes me to constantly feel warm. This would be a pleasant change as Id much rather be cold than hot.
  22. Can someone give me a bit more information about this? I have pretty great insurance that covers a lot! I would love to know more so that I can see. Thanks!
  23. Hmm, how tall are you? Have you spoken with your doctor? Perhaps you can add in another meal during the day to up your calories and stop the weight loss?
  24. The Empire Plan NYSHIP it's for NY state employees. Low Vitamin D level

I also have low vitamin D levels that my neurologist discovered a year and a half ago. My level showed me at a 10! Normal I believe is over 35. This is very common in most Americans to not have the proper vitamin d level. I take 5,000 IUs everyday over the counter. I just have my levels check last week and it's finally up to 55 after a year and half of taking that much. Vitamin d also helps neurological health. Everyone should take a supplement because a one a day doesn't have enough. If you are pre-op I would check with your surgeon about continuing to take a multivitamin vitamin E slows down healing time and should be discontinued at least 10 days prior to surgery. But double check with what your doctor recommends! Good luck everyone!
