*Samantha* replied to QueenLeo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just finishing my 6 months with my appointment in 2 weeks and I will tell you that it goes by so fast! The small changes that you can make now during the six-month time will help you with your success moving forward I had a very hard time giving up soda and my ice coffee but now that it's gone I don't even miss it Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App -

Halfway thru my 6 month supervised
*Samantha* posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on a 6 Month supervised diet to qualify for my surgery. Already have done a few support groups and 2 dietician visits. One more dietician visit then 2 with my primary provider, plus my psych eval and finally can meet with a surgeon! I have United for insurance and when they first told me six months, I was discouraged but it's passing very quickly! I'm on target to meet with my surgeon in August. I have to drop 8 pounds to qualify to move forward as a requirement as well. HW 297 CW 280 Anyone else looking at a similar timeline or better yet, in Maine? I'm glad I'm not the only one! Glad to have support on this site too. It's really nice to get responses and read so much info! All of my visits have been covered by my insurance so far, which is great. I started the process last year and switched jobs and they have more strict requirements with this provider so I had to start all over again. Can't wait to finally get this done and get healthy!!! So here is my story. I have started the process to get the sleeve twice now. Both attempts left me scared and backing off, feeling like I would be resorting to fail by having surgery. My last effort left me in March of 15. My psych, pt visit, support group and first dietician appts already done. I started a new job, which is fantastic but I lost my previous insurance. My new plan did not start until this year so I am back at it. I will not be failing. I will be taking charge of a tool that is being offered to help me with my goals. Yes, I'm terrified but I'm also excited. I struggle with exercise from my weight from major phlebitis in one leg from a pregnancy induced dvt years ago. The heavier I get, the worse it feels. I try to walk long distances and it physically hurts now. I want to be active again. I want to run with my father. I want to be healthy. I want to go the amusement park with my kids and not be afraid to not fit in the seats. I want to go play outside with them and stop missing so many opportunities to enjoy the beautiful scenery outside. I'm tired of being the big girl and ready to be the healthy girl. My insurance, United Healthcare, has me started with their program again. Monday I get my first call to walk me thru what I do next and it's on! I am currently at 297, my highest weight. Hello everyone!!!
