I waited it out, and am ok now. I knew that if I drank I would be sick, so didn't try. It finally went down. From now on, no dry meats for me.

Congratulations, you will be a new man. Keep us posted

Wish I had taken longer. I took 2 weeks and have been so tired and exhausted after just going back part time. I'm getting the cold shoulder from some of my coworkers because it was considered elective. I'm still glad I did it for me though. The worst that could happen is getting the cold shoulder at your work, and they will get over it soon. You have to look at it as doing this for your health, elective or not. I say don't feel guilty, treat yourself first!

I'm only 16 days out but already been on a stall for 5 days, even gained a pound. I lost 18 the first week and a half, then haven't lost anymore. I'm following the rules, but getting concerned. This is much easier to follow when you can see you're losing weight. I know everyone says you shouldn't weigh everyday but when I was losing, it gave me such inspiration. Feeling blue today and want sweets, but won't do it...

Any tips for dealing with 2 week post op liquid diet?
purz59 replied to Sleeved Nurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The preop diet wasn't as bad as I feared it would be... I didn't lose any weight on it, but ate all of the allowed food I wanted. I was never hungry. I was eating most of the time. -
Regretting it already..(day 1)
purz59 replied to ZombieQueen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've been afraid of feeling that regret, but as of two weeks today, I'm still glad I made the decision to have the sleeve. I'm feeling much better now, watching the scales decrease, and feel better knowing I am getting healthy. I realize for the first time I'm eating to live, instead of living to eat. Just knowing I've done this to take care of myself seems to put my mind at ease. -
I'm 12 days post-op, and wanted you to know surgery was not bad. I had absolutely no nausea afterwards. They put Zofran in my iv and I was fine. I was driving and going out in a week. I've not had to take anything for nausea since I've been home either. You'll be fine! Keep us posted. 17 lbs gone in 10 days for me...

Wishing you a quick and easy recovery! Keep us posted -
I kept a pillow over my tummy the entire time, still do

My Dr recommended the bypass for me too due to Gerd. I still opted for the sleeve because of dumping syndrome with the bypass. I'm 10 days out and happy so far with my decision. I'm on nexium 40mg, as I was prior to surgery. Citric acid bothers me a little more than it did prior. I think I may have to continue on the ppi and once I lose the weight, may be OK without it. I'm happy with my decision to be sleeved! Already down 16 lbs too Forgot to mention I also had a hernia repair which may also help with the Gerd

I know this has been a very addressed discussion, however, I started my pureed phase yesterday, and can't seem to get enough liquids in now. If I make myself drink too much, I feel I will get sick. I've had a few Popsicles and am sipping as much as I can make myself. When this happened to any of you, did you revert to all fluids, supplement with G2 Gatorade, pedialite? Any suggestions...

Surgery went well. I'm now on pureed foods. No nausea problems so far. I enjoyed refried beans with cheese for dinner tonight. It's just hard getting in all the liquids now that I'm eating too, but I'm plugging along.

Going to have refried beans for dinner for the first time. I'm a week out. I'm excited and scared at the same time! -
1 WEEK POST SURGERY CHECKUP
purz59 replied to usedtobeaskater's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am one week out today. I started using Miralax as soon as I came home from the hospital, and have not had any problems in that department. I will continue to use a little daily. -
DO YOU HAVE HIP JOINT PAIN?
purz59 replied to downsizingdiva's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My husband was sleeved 10 months ago. He was experiencing a lot of hip pain prior to surgery. We thought that losing the weight would answer his problems with his hip pain, but in fact it did make the hip pain worse. He ended up having a hip replacement 4 mos ago. For whatever reason, maybe for a different forum, he is still experiencing hip pain. -
My surgery was Friday also. I'm basically constantly sipping either a Premier shake or a bottle of water. I'm just having to force myself, as I'm afraid of getting dehydrated. We can do this... Contact me if you need to, we're at exactly the same point in our journey.

Post surgery food addictions and surgery blues
purz59 replied to Ray92's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm on day 4 and feeling kinda down today grieving food. The whole water and protein intake thing is a little overwhelming. I am paranoid of getting dehydrated. Mine has gone pretty smooth so far, but then I come on here and read about a lot of the problems people have down the road too, and get scared. I'm mainly concentrating on healing my body right now and trying to keep my mind quiet too. -
Tomorrow marks 1 year of my new life!
purz59 replied to MyKidsMom89's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was just sleeved Friday. I sure hope that I do as well as you have. You're an inspiration! I'm 56, so worried about not losing as much... -
Congratulations! Great job!

How soon after surgery are you supposed to start LOSING?!?
purz59 replied to itstimealready's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I did not lose any weight on the 10 day preop diet, but stuck to it faithfully. I am hoping the weight loss will begin now. I'm only 3 days out though -
Happy Birthday. Thanksgiving and Christmas will be a lot different for me this year, but I have to look at the end result and focus on the prize...

I had panic but started praying right up to the minute I was put under and felt a sense of calmness. I'm still having moments that I feel afraid of what the future holds for me regarding my surgery though. I will be ready for whatever comes my way and try to remain positive.

I had surgery on 30th and worried that I'm not getting enough liquid, but overall I seem to be about normal. Everyone seems to have this problem in the beginning. My husband, who is 9 months out, also had this problem in the beginning. Best of luck to all of us new sleevers...
