Depression after the Gastric Sleeve
Jovie62 replied to BigTink2LilTink's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm four weeks out and also cry very easily over nothing! Already several times a day. My stomach seems so bloated and I'm in a stall so that doesn't help. I really have to busy of a life to deal w these emotions! Lol I'm hoping I'll turn the corner soon. Hang in there everyone and remember why we made this decision. No matter the struggles I'm going through now, there's no way I want to go back to pre-surgery -
2 weeks post op... sharp pains
Jovie62 replied to DisforDavid's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I'm four weeks post op and still having some left sided pain. I had my three week post op visit last week with my surgeon, NUT, psychologist, and PT and they all said it was normal. I guess my surgeon likes to put a couple of deep stitches in and until they fully dissolve it still might hurt some. Unless you're running a fever and are really sick and painful I wouldn't worry about it and just let your body heal. -
I know it's a weird feeling. I've lost about 60lbs between pre op and 4 weeks post op. I went shopping the other day and I actually had sales people from just about every department ask me if I needed help. Before I could shop all day and basically be invisible. It kind of made me sad to think how I was treated before even though I was fully aware of why I was ignored.

Yea I had my husband burp me like a baby. Slowly pat my back until I burped! Lol. For better or worse!

Elevated liver enzymes after sleeve?
Jovie62 replied to K-Lynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't be scared. Mine has been elevated before also and then normal. Depending on how elevated or not, it might not even be mentioned by your doctor. Before losing sleep over worry, ask your doctor. Have they gone over the results w you? Unless any of us on these posts know your entire medical history or exactly what level your at and why and are qualified to diagnose, I wouldn't come to any conclusions until talking to your doc. Just call them right away and have some one go over your results with you. -
2 Tablespoons of Food. Really?
Jovie62 replied to Slimsoon1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was eating more than 2 tbsp of yogurt in the hospital. Just really slow. Also I was able to have 1/2 to 1 cup of Greek yogurt for a meal. I just ate really slow. You're eating about like I'm eating and I'm sticking to my doctors and NUTs menu to a T. So ni, don't worry, we're just fine! -
That is amazing! You are so cute (in both pictures). I'm 4 weeks post op and I just can't ever see myself looking that thin.

Jovie62 replied to kymmiej11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think your job has a lot to do with it three months really isn't that long and you're still recovering. Can you take a few more breaks during the day? -
I had a lot of back pain too. Up until the last week now it isn't so bad I'm just about four weeks post op

Frozen meals - lean cuisine weight watchers...
Jovie62 replied to MamaTo3inNH's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
51 carbs! That's way to high. I know they're convenient, but there are so many better choices. -
Cheater cheater, pumpkin pie eater
Jovie62 replied to AmyFromCincy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to do the 3 week one also -
I was the same. Did short walks through out the day the rest of the time was in bed. Had to take a laxative to get things moving. On in my fourth week and it does get much much better. Be easy on yourself and let your body heal.

Question for the slow losers
Jovie62 replied to AuriP's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You're surgeons not going to get mad at you. Mine doesn't even set a goal weight. Just as long as your moving in the right direction -
You had surgery on the 10th. Be realistic. If course you're going to be sore and tired.

I agree with Elode and Bluesky. Even though your starting to feel better I wouldn't do anything to risk it. There's still potential for a leak

Is there something wrong with me?
Jovie62 replied to VGB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't want food either. I basically eat for nutritional purposes and to keep losing weight. Nothing even sounds good. A few weeks back before surgery it was a totally different story. -
Full liquid diet.... any new ideas?
Jovie62 replied to k9nana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I couldn't have baby food consistency until the 3rd week and my GI test was fine also. It's funny how everyone is so different -
That's so funny! People bother your guts! Lolol????????????
-
Oh Emma of course this is worth it! I'm so proud of you that you have chosen to keep moving forward. I don't know you but I can tell that you are driven and reach your goals. I always tell myself that time is going to pass whether I make positive changes or not so I might as well keep on keeping on! Good Luck!????

I didn't tell anyone at first but then I just decided to get it over with and tell people. I know it's no ones business but if it was any other surgery I would have said something. I'm not ashamed of it and the ignorance of people is their problem. That being said and I know it's to late, but I still question if saying something was a good idea. Oh well

Back to work soon- tiredness?
Jovie62 replied to nikki1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you don't feel well enough don't go back to work you will just make it worse. I had to start chewable vitamins right away. -
Good luck! So happy for you!
