Will this help with food addiction?
Jovie62 replied to CRNA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I appreciate your honesty. I too relied on food and wine for so many reasons other than nutrition. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I had to give up every addiction over night and it's hard. That being said it is so worth it! I think you are stronger than you think! I'm quite a bit older than you, 52, but emotions are still the same. Once you start feeling better you will create new healthy habits in your life. I'm down roughly 100lbs since last summer and about 65lbs from surgery last February. I still struggle at times with wanting to turn to food but no where near what it used to be. It's a huge commitment and you really do have to take care of yourself and be particular about what you're eating but again it's a choice and surgery is just another tool to help but one I'll never regret! One of the best decisions I've ever made! Good luck! -
Should I cancel my surgery? Help!
Jovie62 replied to Nibbler's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would do it. It will give you the extra energy emotionally and physically to take care of her and you. I was back to work after 10 days and I'm 52. I'll be praying for all of you! Those little babies are lucky to have such a wonderful grandma! -
Thank you James for the suggestions and recipe!

So tired of people saying you dont need surgery!
Jovie62 replied to Shellbell619's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They used to say those comments to me but now that they see the results and how much energy I have they won't to know all about it! I did tell people. I work at a hospital so I saved them the trouble of gossiping about me. Lol. Down a total of 97lbs, 67 lbs. since surgery on 2/18. *want to know -
Good luck! You'll be just fine! Congratulations

Why Getting Sleeved was the Biggest Mistake of My Life
Jovie62 replied to a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow! Maybe as you get older you'll gain a little more wisdom. I do agree w you on one point, you shouldn't have had the surgery. Definitely wasn't ready for it or the responsibility or discipline -

Any suggestions on what type of surgery I can say I am having at work?
Jovie62 replied to Janex43's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told people too. I wasn't going to at first but then I decided why not. I'm not ashamed and I really don't care what they think. The reality is they are very supportive and happy for me -
Extreme Fatigue - 3 Months Out.
Jovie62 replied to gabrielle2014's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Maybe you're just tired. Were you able to take enough time off of work to recover. I mean our bodies have been through a lot and there are so many studies out now emphasizing the importance of sleep. I'm certainly not a doctor but this will pass. There's outside circumstances also. Day light savings, seasons changing, some areas lack of sun! All I'm saying is you are doing the right thing by taking care of yourself and going to the doc. So just relax. It will get better!???? -
Please Tell Me It Gets Better...
Jovie62 replied to kcdavidson42's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you called your doctor? I think that would be a good thing. I'm 4 weeks out fortunately I have not had these problems as such but when I have I call them. They are very supported -
4 weeks out, tried some regular food
Jovie62 replied to Bruce Peter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was able to move into soft foods as well in weeks 4 to 6. Although when I have a lean protein like chicken I try to eat 3 to 4 ounces. Depending on what else I'm having with it. I'm not able to eat salads until the next phase only soft veggies -
Anyone else have a SW OF 280 lbs and want to share their success story?
Jovie62 replied to jerseygrl6289's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This is some of the best stuff I've read!! I'm four and a half weeks out and just the last few days I have seemed to get into some sort of rhythm with food and meals. Food just isn't a priority to me anymore and I no longer am consumed with what my next meal will be and if there'll be enough. I don't have ANY cravings!! I get somewhat hungry, or eat because I need too. Eat slowly, chew my food, get to a comfortable feeling, save the rest until next meal and forget about it! It truly is a miracle!! -
Yea!!! That is one of the best feelings!

I'm done going through this procedure
Jovie62 replied to humblestar25's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good luck!! I went through the process and I don't think I could have been as successful without it. It taught me so much about how why and when I eat. After all it is a life changing decision. -
Did your "sips" get bigger a week out?
Jovie62 replied to Riz2006's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too. I asked my NUT about it and she said that was normal and it was fine. Just don't chug it really fast so it doesn't make you dick or hurt -
Of course you crave that stuff. We all did but it did nothing for us. Your going t o have to make up your mind to stay away from it. Prep op prep is so important for surgery
-
Maybe I'll try the prince juice and green beans. I think I can have them on week four
-
I'm four weeks out and dealing with the same thing! Miserable. My stomach is so bloated colace didn't help at all now I'm trying MOM again. I'm hoping now that I hit week 4 at can have a few other foods this will help!
