    Getting closer and having doubts

Skc, I'm feeling the exact same way. I went to an informational seminar 12/18. Two weeks later I scheduled my initial appointment and was able to squeeze all the required appointments into 1 week...minus the EGD and sit downs with the surgeon and anesthesiologist. My surgery date is 2/10. It is a big step and for all of it to happen so quick...mindblowing!! I'm also excited at the same time. I am a worrier by nature so I'm chalking it up to that. I know I've been at this weightloss thing for 30+ years. I feel I've wasted enough time. I'm ready to succeed for a change. I know I'll be back and forth till the day is here, but I need to do this for me.

Sorry to hear that GAWildKat. I hope it gets better. May need to call doctors office. I don't think they want you to be blacking out. It does seem a little unrealistic to ask people who are willing to undergo bypass to try to starve themselves without surgery. If we possessed that kind of control over our food intake would we need this surgery? I understand the need for a day or two before surgery, but 2 weeks?? I picked up my stuff from BB&B yesterday and went to The Vitamin Store and got 3 different flavors of Isopure...man, those things are pricey! Three came to $13.00 and some change. Only planning on using them a few weeks postop, but still. Going to look around and see if they are any cheaper online.

GoGoniner, February 14 is a great date for surgery.❤️ My surgery date is the 10th. I've designated 2015 the year of me getting my health back on track. I hit the BIG 50 this month and I'm not going to wait any longer. Thanks for your feedback on the Isopure. Definitely going to need something lighter than shakes to get the Protein in. I'm also thinking about getting some unjury to add to broth.

Thanks for making me feel better Mary! It's a strange feeling to go from real excited to worried all the time. But, I do know that I've been feeling more positive/happier since making this decision. I think I'm just nervous...which is to be expected. Also, thanks for the Isopure review. I might get 2 different flavors. Like you said, I can always Water them down a little if they are to sweet.

Has anyone tried the Isopure drinks yet? Add a run to GNC to my list. Also going to get some more Crystal Light flavors. Tried fruit punch and pink lemonade so far...really good. The slow eating and drink is going to be hard. I'm sure it will become second nature after awhile...but, the beginning should be interesting. Anyone getting cold feet? Not really wanting to back out cold feet...maybe chilly feet. Just starting to sink in that my whole life is going to change. I'm not good at change. At times I'm so excited, but at other times, I'm scared and worried about whether I'm making the right decision. It's all part of the process I'm sure. Any thoughts?

Also going to get a small spoon (probably baby spoon) to remind me to take small bites/sips.

Good morning February friends! I went out and got a few more things: sugar free tums, milk of magnesia, gasX strips, Tylenol (use to be an Advil/Aleve taker), large daily pill container (to keep vitamins), and some sugar free lemon drops. Going to the grocery today for sf Jello and sf Popsicles. Going to hit BB&B tomorrow for prep bowls and measured drink cups tomorrow. Tried the Atkins French vanilla shake (blue top) this morning. It's OK. Leaves an overly sweet aftertaste. This is the first Atkins shake I've tried. I bought the caramel one also. So far, premier is the best. I've read where the tastebuds change after surgery so I'm not going to buy a big quantity of any of the shakes...just enough to get me through a week at a time.

So, is everyone starting to stock up on their postop necessities? I only have a few things so far: flintstone chewable vitamins, b12 chewables, 3 different kinds of ready to drink protein shakes to try. So far, the chocolate Premier is pretty good. I still have a long list of things to still get. Start my 2 week preop diet in a week! Getting nervous/excited!!

Yes you will carrits! Mine gave us a handout with it all spelled out (even had pictures of most products they recommend) for pre and post op. We also got to try some of the supplements they offer to help us pick out flavors of certain things. It will answer a lot of your questions.

    Getting cold feet ❄

I'm the same Jk. I started this process 12/18 with a seminar and am scheduled for surgery on 2/10. Yes, it's fast. Yes, my head is still spinning. But, I've been thinking about this surgery on and off for years! I think I just have a case of nerves. I'm a natural worrier and tend to always second guess myself. I know this will improve my life. I just need to keep that in mind and not let my worry wart nature get the best of me! Take a deep breath, write all the pros and cons down on paper, and talk with your loved ones more. I'm bless, my have been very encouraging. Hugs to you.

I feel ya carrits! I feel like I'm on information overload. My process has gone really quick and my head is spinning! My dietician gave me a list of protein powders and ready to drink choices which I am supposed to stick to. Makes it simple.
