Thank you so much! I will start with those and see how I like them... I can have a few bites of bread, after that I feel bloated and my belly is heavy. Pancakes initiated "dumping syndrome" but did not vomit, only sweaty, nausea, heart racing. I find that same feeling accompanies anything overly sweet as well. My biggest want is just healthy recipes, I'm looking online for a cook book of some sort to guide me.

I am post op 1-9-15, in down 36 lb. What I am finding is that we are healing internally and now I'm starting to see the scale move... Take it slow, rest, be easy your first couple months- it will come off!! I'm in the same boat and I starting to see changes slowly but surely! I had my surgery and then a post op GI bleed 9 days after discharge, they had to put 22 lb of fluids on me, setting me wayyyyy back!! It will happen, we will do it!! -

I'm very nervous about the weight gain too and hence the reason I am hesitant! I know there's many options, I'm aware of the pill (just not thrilled to add another one to my pile... I had a post op GI bleed and currently on soooo many meds!) I also am uncertain what I can take due to have the bleed... -

I had RNY on the 9th of jan and 10 days later landed in the ER due to SOB. I was told I was severely tachycardia and had internal bleeding. I called the office earlier that day and they informed me that blood in my stool was "normal" for first BMs.... I ended up staying 6 days and am worried that I'm not going to get the results I hoped for. I do not feel as though I'm losing weight fast enough compared to others and also feel this was a major set back, as now I have 4 additional mess to take for ulcers... I understand! -
Today is my first day of foods (ie- cottage cheese, grits, oatmeal, and mashed potatoes)... I tried a shot glass sized portion of grits earlier and ate until I was semi- "full". A few hours later, I was hungry again.... Is this normal? What steps are people taking to maintain that full feeling as to not stretch your pouch? Am I doing anything wrong?

What worked best for you? Are instant potatoes ok to have? Or should we be peeling a potato and mashing? -

Thank you! Maybe I have a misunderstanding... Every 3 hrs I will try! I have been very good with my fluid intake, slacking with the protein drinks, but my surgeon/doctor says they do not want us on the protein shakes for long. 2 weeks max-- it leads to us drinking our calories.
