Looking Forward to New Life!

Fingers crossed! I'm hoping distraction, etc is adding to my fog as well, because I don't have a job that will support lack of focus long term for sure! Thank you for this chat. I'm sure you understand how I'm feeling, can't get it off my mind. Got a multi-Vitamin from GNC, and D-3, and Omega 3 and b12 but not a bariatric one. Are you taking liquid or pill form? Sorry for so many questions, I'm going shopping for Popsicles, antacids and a few things shortly. -
Sounds like your in good hands. Hope you continue to improve over the weekend and have safe travels home.

Looking Forward to New Life!

Kat, I'm excited for you and I personally don't think your weight loss sounds that slow, and it's probably best. We all want more of course, no matter the number, but 11 lbs in 17 days is still amazing! Happy to hear recovery is near done and that you're anxious to start exercising, that's a good sign. Mind me asking how your energy level is and if you've experienced any mental fog. I am right now on my pre-op super low carb diet and I'm hoping it goes away quickly. -
I put I goaled for 40 carbs, but I haven't been over 24 Net Carbs per day in 9 days since learning to use fitness pal to calculate and track.
-
Awesome! I'm an expert at my fitness pal pal at this point and you'll be surprised at how easy and great it is. I'm doing 1100 calories and goaled for under 40 carbs per day and it's so easy to track and stick to because my fitness pal tells you the nutrition values and scans things and tells you how you're doing during the day. If you'd like help with it at all, let me know and I'd be more than happy to. With surgery Wednesday this is all I'm thinking about now anyway!
-
I hope you will keep us posted. Odd, I don't know you at all personally but I truly care and do know you in other ways that only those of us that live the life of an obese person can understand. I am thinking of you and hope you feel better soon! Michelle
-
Are you using my fitness pal? I love it!! Made all the difference for me. I'm just the opposite, I told myself this morning I have to up my carbs because I show too many ketones. What kind of diet are you following to prepare for the 4th?
-
What kind of a pre-op diet are you doing? I was going to keep a secret but it's slowly gotten out amongst those closest to me in the last week although it's not discussed. No one knew up until now, the very end.
-
@ justajenn - I hope you're feeling better and hiccups are gone. I haven't had anyone tell me not to do it but that's because I have acquaintances, not friends since I'm kind of a loner. I hope now you're getting more support are time goes on.

Great idea about a flavorless add-in. Right now I've just got 4 different types of shakes, a few protein shots my PA suggested and a few broths.

Michelle 44 5'6 262 lb 284 lb first visit with Dr. I'll get Vitamins today, I've been meaning to get it done. I'm excited for you too, the 16th is soon. Two weeks ago feels like yesterday. My main worry is keeping my head clear so it doesn't affect my job, and losing the first five weeks because I'm going to the Grand Cayman Islands with work and I'd like to be down a little at least. Only 5 weeks, but it adds up! The trip is a perk only announced two weeks ago and it's a group and the dates march 5-9 were set. Shouldn't complain, but really bad timing! Anything weighing on you?
-
Yes, thank you! I'm trying to find these areas on the site. Most of the things just listed I had not been told. It's all been about drink Water and get in Protein. I've found some high protein liquid Protein shakes I like that my Dr. said counts towards liquids.
-
Awesome, let's do it! I want to know I'm/we're going into this having everything we need to be successful. I find this forum hard to use because hard to sort messages and threads so if I don't respond text me 503-748-9452. With 4 days left I want ease and peace of mind ???? Have you found some good shakes to drink immediately post-op?
-
I have been told can be hard in beginning and that some get really depressed, many different reactions. Except for being aware so I do the best to prepare myself, I haven't worried about that because it would just drive me crazy. I'm focusing on the freedom I'll feel when not held back by this 100 lbs!
-
10 days out, I'm 4 days out and feeling that way too! Very excited but wow! I feel like I need to be surrounded by it right now but don't know anyone. Besides Water and Protein shakes, I don't really have anything else for post-op. Was told to know what I like but to get very little since we don't know what my body will handle. How are you preparing for post op first two weeks?
-
28th, here we come. Stay strong, you can do it!
-
Just saw your reply, didn't have it set up right. Surgery in 4 days! (28th) How are you doing? You're date? Michelle
-
I'm having surgery Wednesday and am very excited. Can't talk about it because no one around me understands how I'm feeling. Michelle
-
Being sleeved on Wednesday and super excited but don't know others to connect with. Reaching out tonight to hopefully create a support/buddy group. Michelle
-
Hi, Would love to have someone to reach out to because my surgery is Wednesday and I'm starting to freak out. I'm very excited, but am nervous to not have someone to talk to that is going through what I'm going through on a similar timeline. Looking forward to making life changes, Michelle
-
Good luck, I'm scheduled for 28th as well. The next 4 days will fly by...
