    My hair, my hair!

I was sleeved 15 months ago, and I experienced some hair loss - not visible patches, but I could tell it was lots thinner. I've always gotten my 60 + grams of protein and I've always taken biotin along with a multivitamin. About 3-4 months ago, I noticed a lot of new hair growth in the areas that were thin. Now I have new hairs sprouting up all over my head - sometimes my part looks like a porcupine!!! So it does get better!!
  2. I take two stool softeners every day, with the approval of my team. The PA said those were absolutely fine to take every day. That coupled with 64-80 oz of water daily keeps me regular!

A normal daily diet for the sleeve

I was sleeved March 2015, so I'm 10 months post op. Breakfast - premier pre-made Protein shake Mid morning snack - planters protein pack (nuts, dried fruit, etc 10 grams protein) lunch - 3-4 oz meat. I usually do taco meat, or chicken/beef cooked in crockpot (various recipes - I tend to do better with moister meats). Sometimes I eat leftovers from the night before, but it's mostly protein with 2-3 bites of veggies. Afternoon snack - another planters protein pack. Sometimes I don't eat an afternoon snack dinner - more meat. Sometimes same as lunch or leftovers again. Sometimes I just drink another protein shake. And throughout the day, I'm drinking either Water or decaf/unsweetened tea to get my 64 oz of liquids in

    Feet Shrinking?

I haven't lost any length wise - still size 11, but I no longer need a wide width
  5. Don't overestimate the amount of soup/broth you'll need. I had surgery in March and still have plenty of broth and soup leftover. A food scale is great to have once you start solid foods. I loved my ninja blender for Protein shakes.

    Pre-op diet

I lost 13 lbs on my 10 pre-op diet. I didn't cheat - was too afraid my liver wouldn't shrink enough! I stuck with protein shakes, cottage cheese, and broths

    Restriction varies daily

I'm like that too! I'm two months post op, and one day I can eat a 4oz of grilled chicken or half of a hamburger patty with no problems. Then other days I eat the same thing and it sits like a brick in my tummy! It's so strange!

    Another Surgery

I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy about 3 years ago. I had no pain whatsoever. Spent one night in hospital and home by lunch the next day. I was driving within a week of surgery. I don't even think I took any of my pain meds after I got home

    Antacids?

I'm six weeks post-op. I take 40 mg protonix once a day (was on this prior to surgery) and 75 mg prescription Zantac twice a day. I went through a rough patch of horrible reflux, but it seems to be a little better now that I'm eating real food.
  12. I cannot believe how good I feel to have had major surgery a week ago! Got my drain out yesterday (and it didn't even hurt!!!) - spent yesterday and today running errands and feel like my old self - except I don't want to eat! It's such a weird feeling - I can see and smell food and really appreciate the good aromas, but I have no desire to even take a bite! I am praying that this stays with me when I go back to eating real food. I'm sorry for bragging bc I know a lot of you are having a harder recovery, but I feel like I have a new lease on life. This is the best decision I've ever made!!

    1 week post op

I'm a week post-op like all of you - no more pain, just soreness and it gets better each day. I'm getting between 50-64 oz of Fluid a day, and between 50-60 g of Protein a day. I'm tired of the Protein shakes, but I make myself drink at least one each day. Other protein comes from adding unjury unflavored to Soup broths. My incisions are itching too, and I don't know if I'll ever get all the tape residue off my tummy! I have an appointment with my surgeon today to get my drain out! I get tired with the monotony of the liquid diet, but I know that I have to get through it. I just keep the end goal in sight - a healthier, better quality of life!
  14. I'm on day 4 post-op. Getting all my Protein in, but building up to 64 oz of Fluid. I got 48oz in yesterday. I'm beginning to tire of the shakes - chocolate is too sweet (never thought I say that lol) and adding unflavored to broth gives a weird texture. I've got one bottle of isopure gonna use that to get my protein in today - definitely gonna stock up on that Monday. I'm just tired of the soreness. Not taking pain meds bc I don't like the flavor. I guess I'm suffering a little cabin fever/boredom which is to be expected. Going to my classroom to get papers to grade - maybe that will help boredom lol

    Sleeved today March 18

Don't mean to be graphic, but the only "movements" I've had have been of the liquid kind - I guess liquid in, liquid out is what I should expect.
