  1. I'd love to be a part of a "low bmi" group!
  2. I'm May 21 also. Can't wait for this damn liquid diet to be over!!!
  3. I'm low BMI also. BMI is a 37.5 but I have comorbidities (HBP, sleep apnea, GERD, joint pain) and im also hypothyroid. My family and friends have given me a slew of "you're not big enough" comments. Im tired of losing and regaining plus id love for my comorbidities to go away after surgery.

    Pre-op diet is a b***h

Yep, pre op diet sucks. Here's my good, bad, and ugly: The good - I haven't experienced true hunger, just head hunger. And I've been on the diet 4 days and have lost 6 pounds so far. The bad - the head hunger sucks. I am dodging people and food. I miss my normal weekend meals involving food, drinks, and friends! The ugly - I've had bad gas since I've been on the pre op diet. Thankfully I live alone!

    Good bye, my love

LOL! You're a great writer. Thanks for sharing, it definitely made me laugh. Not at you, of course.
  7. Congrats Liz! I'm also scheduled in May - May 21. As far as the exercise goes, I'm hearing that you won't have much energy to do a full blown workout. I'm also hearing WALK WALK WALK to help get rid of the gas. I'm still researching purees and soft meals - but here's what I think I'm going to try: Purees: Refried Beans with salsa Roasted cauliflower Chili Hummus Soups oatmeal pureed meatloaf Deviled eggs Broccoli Puree Pureed black bean Soup

hi Lori, my surgery is also with Dr Holden. When is your date?
  11. My "high" goal weight is 180, so it's not quite 100 pounds. I'd take 170 though

Anyone receive a call from insurance nurse

I received one of these calls too...I have United. It actually kind of pissed me off because they called after I was approved for the surgery. I wanted to tell her "Um don't you think I've already tried everything you've suggested?" I know they are just doing their job, but it came off a bit condescending.

Bad credit and waiting for a loan

Carecredit used to be pretty lenient a few years back. I'm not sure how strict their credit standards are now, though. There is another site called creditboards.com where you may be able to determine if people were approved for carecredit and what their credit score was for approval. Good luck!

    My pooch is gross

i have one of those too and am so hoping it goes away after I have surgery.
  15. Hello everyone! So right now I'm preop - if everything goes as planned I should be sleeved in May or June. So here's my dilemma - for the last 6 months, my periods have been out of control. For the first 4 months, I was off the pill, So in December, I decided to go back on the pill (I'm on low dose because of my hypertension) to see if that would help. It seems to have made it worse. This month I've been "red" for 9 days now...I've never had these kinds of issues. Not only am I "Seeing red" but I have cramps from hell and its like Niagara falls! Will this get better after surgery? It's making me miserable. Not only that, it's embarrassing at work to run to the bathroom every two hours and live in fear that I've stained my pants. I'm at super absorbency tampons + a pad...I'm feeling like I'm 12 again! Side note - I am also hypothyroid - controlled with meds and pending results of another test - so I don't know if this has anything to do with it.

  18. Hi Everyone! So I've received some really good advice from these forums. I'd like to know what things you've found really helped you out once you got out of the hospital. So far I have: Mederma cream Grabber (http://www.amazon.com/Ettore-49036-Grip-n-Grab/dp/B001B13PC2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426168640&sr=8-1&keywords=grabber) Wedge Pillow Anyone else have any other recommendations of things that will help post surgery?
  19. I soooooo know the feeling! To give you hope...When I was larger I wore a 13. At one point I dropped sizes to an 11.5 after losing quite a bit of weight.
  20. My first consult was 1/23. Surgery date is scheduled for 5/21. I could have scheduled it for April but decided not to due to some travel for work.

    May Sleevers...where are you?

My doctor stated that I don't have to start the pre op diet until 2 weeks prior to surgery. My birthday is April 26, so I'm having a blow out this year.
