  1. Anyone else experience this? I will eat and start to feel like I have to belch, but the gas feels like it's trapped under the food I ate and if I try too hard the food will come up instead. I usually sit there and struggle with the pain until it passes, but it is really miserable and then afterwards even though I feel better food just doesn't sound good at that point.

    Meat:(

Thanks! I do eat slow but I guess with the meat I will have to do better

    Meat:(

I'm 6 weeks out and I do not handle meat very well:( If it is mixed in something like a chicken salad that works. But I try to eat grilled fish or chicken and the pain is horrible in my chest! Does this ever get better???
  4. Turkey sausage or eggs for breakfast, chicken salad or soup for lunch, cheese sticks or greek yogurt for snack. I usually eat a small amount of what I fix for the family for dinner. I also love the pinto and cheese from Taco Bell, only if I'm out and about and hungry.

    Nauseated 4 weeks out

I'm 5 weeks out and the same way. I can not finish a whole protein shake without nausea and forcing it down. Trying to just up my protein from foods.

    Meds

I took pills as soon as I was discharge. No problem!
  7. I'm one month post and have a small coffee every morning. Sometimes I don't even drink it all, but it is very therapeutic for me to fix it and start my day off with one:)

    No drinking with meals

I just had chicken curry tonight, almost 4 weeks out. And it went down great:)
  9. I know that I can not have regular pancakes, but I have seen several recipes for cottage cheese or ricotta pancakes. If I'm on a soft diet would you think those are acceptable??
  10. I too had issues with falling asleep and also waking up constantly. Started taking unisom it got so bad.
  11. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong:( During my week long pre op I lost 5 pounds and then from my surgery date of 1/29 to my first post op 1 week I had lost 11 pounds. Now this Thurs will be 2 weeks from my 1 week post op appt and I am exactly the same weight as I was at that appt!!?? I'm on purée diet, I drink one 30gram protein shake a day and I have no problem drinking liquids. I eat eggs, cottage cheese, soups, some meat puréed but it's hard, and refried beans. I know I'm less than 500 calories a day, not sure how I'm messing up. All I know is this beginning stage is pure hell and to keep watching the scale not move is torture. Any advice??
  12. Keep looking at these on Amazon and not sure which one to buy:( Do you mix them with milk or water?? Any recommendations would be great:) thx
  13. My surgery was 1/29 and I was released today by my doctor to start purred food. I ate black bean soup for lunch and then egg salad for dinner. I was only able to eat 2 ounces but I was able to keep it down. I also drank 1-2 ounces of a protein shake. I agree that it's definitely hard to get all the protein in. I'm struggling too. But I think it will take time, so once you can have puréed food just try your best. Have you tried Isopure ready to drink protein?? The flavors are so strong, but it's clear liquid and you might like them. Good luck, I will be interested in what others say:)
  14. Glad you are doing well:) I have went into my office once this week for a half day and then go back Friday this week too. My surgery was same day!! Feeling great besides being fatigued easily.
