  1. Hey guys! I just got to Tijuana Mexico and my surgery is TOMORROW at 4pm!!!! I cant wait!!! ☺ Such a great experience so far! Sorry this is all over the place, just so excited to be here! I flew into San Diego today at 11am and was picked up by David, he is so nice and sweet, I felt like I was hanging out with a close friend. David drove me to Wal-Mart so I could get some last minute things I didn't/couldn't bring on the plane (chicken broth). It took us about 15 minutes from walmart in San Diego to get to the recovery house, so close from the boarder! I just got settled in at their recovery house, It. Is. Gorgeous! I feel very secure, the front has a locked gate that you have to buzz people in. I pretty much have a 2 bedroom apartment to myself because the last patient flew out this morning. I'm watching the big game in my room! Go Hawks!! I have access to their wi-fi, english cable tv, and even a laptop that I can use to call home or skype. The beds are so comfortable. Im going to take a nap but wanted to write yall first. I was so excited for today I couldnt sleep lastnight! David helped me order a chicken salad from a local restaurant, it was so yummy! I took some photos of the recovery house, I'll attach them below for yall! Ill do another update tomorrow on the hospital and more photos! Please ask tons questions if you're thinking about going through Dr.Zavalza. I'd be happy to answer your questions! *Photos uploaded weird. Ugh.

    Losing Friends :(

I am sorry you have to go through that, I know it can be hard. My 2 best friends felt like I didnt care for their opinion, in her words, "It sounds like you're telling us this just to tell us not because you want our opinion and you dont care how we feel." It made me mad that theu weren't supportive at first but come to find out they were just incredibly worried about me going to Mexico for surgery by myself. On a sad note she isnt talking to me anymore either, her loss

    Is this dumping syndrome?

A week after my surgery I had that happen 1 time. Then nothing else all day. Sleevers aren't prone to dumping syndrome, so I was told. It can happen but it's more likely to happen to bypass patients. Although, im no doctor.
  7. Apparently I can't upload photos, ignore that last post.
  8. Please share your experiences if you've had the same issue, I need help on this one. Surgery was Feb 2nd. Honestly, I feel a little anorexic. I have been on pureed for almost a week now, but every time I eat I feel so sick and make myself vomite or my body force vomites. I try to get my liquids in everyday but it feels like time is passing so fast that I have barely got anything down all day (food, water/gatorade.) I went to the hospital for some iv fluids this weekend and tests came back great. Doctor ended up giving me 3 bags of iv fluids because I was really dehydrated. I've been trying multiple Protein shakes to find one I actually like that doesn't make my stomach hurt. I am talking to my surgeon about it tomorrow. ANY advice would be great if you had this same problem, how did you get all your liquids down? And how did you transition food stages? Thanks you guys!!
  9. I've been on omeprozole for years for my acid reflux. It could be that im eating/drinking too fast. Ill slooooow down and see if that helps. Thanks for replying guys, sometimes it takes an outsiders perspective.
  10. Same, liquid tylenol, walmart. I have cronic migraines, when they said I couldnt have ibuprohen anymore I wanted to cry. The tylenol has worked pretty good, im suprised.

    What is your goal?

Weight goal is to be between 130-140. I started my pre-op diet at 230lbs. I had surgery the 2nd of February and I am down 33lbs already. Praying for a better back and knees, gotta get this weight off!

Ive heard it's more for bypass patients than sleevers, bit thats just what I read. Doc never told me too.

  15. Thanks for this one, i had surgery the 2nd and keep weighing in between 199 and 202. 33lbs gone since my pre-op diet, and now nothing. I too have decided to stop stepping on the scale everyday. lol It is just too exciting not to step on it everyday.
