    Submitted today!

Ok thanks so much! I have pre-op class tomorrow along with weigh in so I'm just trying to stay below my starting weight so there's no net gain. I was 3.5 lbs under last week but just got my "monthly friend" and I usually gain four to five pounds during that so I'm stressing. Trying to keep my calories low until this appt is over!

    Aetna 2015 Weight Requirements

@@handymannynyc1 . . . Thanks for the info. I'm trying to be really good these last few days before my final weigh in prior to my paperwork being submitted to Aetna. I want this badly. I'm ready for this! I deserve this!

    Aetna 2015 Weight Requirements

I've been told that the language for Aetna's policy changed and says "contemporaneous" not 2 years. I'm trusting my Bariatric gurus on this. Final weigh in before submitting to Aetna is on May 5th. I will keep you posted on approval outcome. Should know something one to two weeks after that!
  9. Newbie here . . . I met with my PCP on Tuesday to have the very difficult discussion about deciding to try to have sleeve surgery. My mind was already made up because I'd attended the initial seminar, met with surgeon and started nutrition classes. However, the PCP needed to write my letter of medical necessity. I was fearful of meeting with her since she's not overweight, nor has she ever been a big proponent of any sort of weight loss aid (other than diet/exercise). When I did meet with her Tuesday, I was very open to hear her concerns but informed her that this should be my decision and although I appreciate her professional opinion, this is something that I've thought long and hard about. I told her that I wanted this new lease on life and that this would not be a quick fix for me. I am happy to report that she did agree to write the letter and to my surprise . . . her office called yesterday to tell me that the letter was ready and that I could pick it up or they could fax it. Fax it? Um, no . . . I'll pick it up. Thank you very much!!! I sat in my car, read the letter and then called my husband crying. I felt like I just won the lottery! May seem silly to some but I was afraid that getting her to write the letter would Never happen. So excited.
