Hi everyone, I am 6 months out and have lost 57 lbs so far. (229 to 172) I have been on the mini pill for about 18 months, and it was great my periods had stopped completely. But now they have come back with a vengeance ... So I was looking at other options like the implant or injection... The only thing is I have read a side effect is weight gain. Had anyone any experience of this? I'm after a contraception with stops my period and hopefully doesn't make me pike on the pounds :-(

Thanks for the input :-) I have 2 lovely children and I don't want anymore... So I may ask about depo :-)

Vegetarians & Gastric Sleeve
mandyboo replied to JenniferP1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't measure my carbs, calories or anything. I just eat.. Lol. But I should think carbs are quite high. I eat cereal bars, crackers, cake, whatever I want really. I probably would have lost a lot more if I'd stick to the rules, but I'm happy with my progress :-) it's just been ( dare I say it) easy. :-) -
Hi, has anyone experience the weight loss to slow down or stop after gall bladder removal? Mine is being taken out next week, and someone told me that after she had hers out, she stopped losing weight. Please reply if you have had your gall bladder removed after wls, and if it had helped or hindered your progress.... I am nearly 6 months out and down 54 from 229 to 175. Thankyou.

Hi, I'm just over 5 months out, and down 52lbs from 229 to 177. I've been in pain from gallstones and need it taken out on 22nd august, a week short of my 6 month surgiversary. This is the only problem I've had from the sleeve, everything else has gone smoothly. Just wondering what other peoples experiences are of gallbladder removal?

I have not been on here for a while, I was sleeved 27th Feb in the uk. So far I am down 35lbs, which is quite slow I think. But I'm happy. I've not had a stall yet, have lost a little every week. I can eat anything, and I'm lucky that I've not been sick once. I am just over my half way mark, I have 33 lbs left until I reach my goal. :-) started at 229, now 194. Hope everyone else is ok :-)

The sleeve was so easy, I wasn't in any pain at all. I had 2 c sections ... They were horrible.

I'm eating ice cream because my consultant told me to as I can't keep much in there!Interesting! I'd love to know what the rest of your plan looks like. Ice cream makes me hurl. Two bites and I am face down in the toilet. Cream of tomato soup, oxtail soup, any sorts of soups as long as not got big lumps in it! I am now on soft foods so I can have things like mash potato with some cheese on it, I'm allowed mince with sauce as long as it's smashed down She already said she was UK. There are a few of us on here.... And our plans are totally different. . . And nothing has made me sick yet. -

Pain Ranking: C-Section vs. Sleeve
mandyboo replied to Garifab_VSG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had 2 c sections, and then the sleeve 27th feb .... Zero pain with the sleeve. It was just easy. -
Oh wow, you sound like me! My HW was 229 DOS 221 CW 208. I too have been really disappointed with that and my mother has asked me if it was really worth it! It's been just over 4 weeks since surgery, they never mentioned low carb to me either. I keep hoping that slower loss may mean less loose skin and hopefully less hair loss. Guess we have no choice but to keep at it ... :-)

I lost 6lb first week post op :-( are you in the uk? You mentioned £ so I'm guessing you are.... I am too. -
I feel worse now than I did when I came out of hospital. My tummy hurts all the time, all the way up to my chest,I feel like there's rocks in there. My incisions hurt, they are glued, no stitches. I have a weird big blister come up on my tummy for no reason. The injections I have to give myself hurt like hell. I'm managing water ok and some protein, and a bit of soup, I'm on full liquids. When does it get better?? :-(
-
This morning I woke up feeling loads better, day 5 post op. I thought I'd try and drink a Protein drink straight away to get it out the way, so I warmed up a cup of milk and added a scoop of vanilla powder shake to it. It was a bit sweet and sickly, but doable. I drank it, fairly quick maybe, within about 10 mins. Then I started sweating so much, my tummy was churning, I needed to be sick or sit on the toilet. Nothing happened either way, and I went to bed, fell asleep, and woke up 2 hours later. What's all that about?? :-(

Have you all managed to joined the feb sleevers Facebook? I'm part of it. I was sleeved 27th feb :-)

Is this dumping syndrome?
mandyboo replied to mandyboo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in the uk, and they seem to do different things here. But the reason I'm still trying to get protein in regardless is because I want to heal and I don't want hair loss. They said to worry about protein later on and not yet. . But I'm not buying it. I'll try my protein with Water instead, see how that goes .. Thanks for all your help :-) -

Oh I didn't realise I shouldn't be drinking milk :-( my dietician said to drink lots of milky drinks and add fortified milk powder to them, but also told me not to worry about protein. So I've been trying to get protein in regardless. I'm so confused now :-( -
How many if you didn't tell your friends or other mums at school? The only person I've told is my mum. I floated the idea with a skinny friend and she got really funny and negative... Told me I would die. I've not spoke to her since or told anyone else.... :-( I'm 229 lbs and 5'3 - surgery 27th feb :-)
