Calories and protein
dkrause replied to Smallbites2015's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Whey protein shots are 3.2 and 42 grams. Good way to jump start your day with your intake. I slam one every morning and I have over half already in. They can be purchased at GNC, VITAMIN SHOPPE or Amazon among other places I'm sure. -
How is that even a question. What kind of Dr's plans are you following. Most I have seen have you on chewable 2 weeks before surgery. Yes take some chewable bariatic or multi vitamins and B12...

I don't see how but ok..,mine was Aug 24th and it was easy breezy compared to what I have read on here with peoples complications. No complaints here.

Seeking suggestions for post-op meals

Unjury makes a great chicken soup..order some Wonton soup and toss the wonton. Miso soup broth also ..they are ways to mix it up...I also found a pumpkin creme soup mix..it was yummy for when you move to full liquids. -
Oatmeal with Raisins or prune juice for the Loo.

What Vitamins are you taking post op? Did you start with one type ie. Chewable and then move to regular ones if you could tolerate? I am trying Centrum Chewables..not a fan.

Any NJ Sleevers have their surgery w/Dr. Patel from AtlantiCare?

Ty.... -
They have a aquired taste. For the benefit of 42 grams in 3.2oz you can get through them. Taste is not best but they are doable.
-
Isopure drinks are aquired taste no doubt. The black tea is good cold with some Splenda..very refreshing. I am also using the 42gram whey protein 3.2oz shots...one quick shot and I'm at 42 grams first thing in the morning. You have to find what works for your schedule and lifestyle.
-
Monday for me 2...no desire to eat but I know I have to get 76 grams in so I force myself. I am doing the 3.2oz 42 gram protein shots to get it in with less. A shake midday and strained soup for dinner...I'm OK with that for now.

Any tips on riding bicycles?
dkrause replied to VDB's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Being in the larger and heavier group myself and a avid bike rider. A good seat is a must... also one thing that helped TREMENDOUSLY was Pedal extenders.. they screw into the cranks then the pedal screws into them. They spread the width out and is much much more comfortable. They are very cheap in cost and can be had at local bike shops, ebay and Amazon. Good Luck !
