  1. I had my lap band removed in September 2004 after 20 months of vomiting every day. My esophagus was becoming damaged and the doctor told me it had to come out, which I was more than ready for because I was so miserable. Since the removal, I have experienced a sharp pain which varies in intensity in the area right between my breasts, and it radiates to the middle of my back. I've gone to a gastroenterologist and had an EGD done, and he told me everything looks fine. He thinks there's probably scar tissue that is causing the pain, and that the only way to find out for sure what is causing the pain is to do exploratory surgery, and I don't want to do that right now -- the pain is not debilitating, but bothersome. Has anyone else who has had their band removed experienced this pain or anything similar? Any suggestions as to what I can do to try and figure out what's causing the pain, short of surgery? Thanks for any and all replies and information. Dana B. :help:
