Sleeved 10/12 - saw my NUT today for my one month appt. We went through what I have been eating (or not eating) and she said I need to double my calorie intake! I've been getting about 400 calories and she wants me closer to 800. That seems like an insurmountable hurdle to me - lol! Who would have thought I would ever hear that I need to eat more! Love my sleeve, losing slowly but steadily. Best decision I ever made.

Hey everybody. I was sleeved on the 12th, so I'm just over 2 weeks post-op. I was officially released to soft foods yesterday....and I haven't eaten anything yet. I'm still getting all my Protein (plenty) from Isopure and Premier Protein. I did have a pudding cup or two when on puree, but that's it. Has anyone else experienced this feeling of avoidance? I have no issues so far with my sleeve, I can drink normal swallows of Water without problems, so I'm sure food will be ok too. I think maybe that's the problem - I'm afraid I'll start eating too much. Anyway, other than this I've had an uneventful recovery for which I am profoundly thankful.

I'm afraid to eat
Seahawkgirl replied to Seahawkgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@anna9/15 I started with a slice of deli meat. It went just fine. So that's what I've been doing at work, a Protein drink and a slice of ham or turkey. -
I swear the drain is the worst part of this whole experience. I was sleeved 10/12 and my surgeon felt like he needed to leave a drain for the next week until I see him a week from today. It's the thing that is giving me the most pain, otherwise I think I would only be on tylenol now. Anyway. just wanted to check and see if others have dealt with this and if there are any good tricks to making it bearable!

Anyone come home with a drain?
Seahawkgirl replied to Seahawkgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Elode Hilarious! I don't think I'm brave enough to pull it myself but I do think I will call and see if I can get it taken out earlier than next Wednesday. I'd hoped to go back to work on Monday, but not looking forward to managing that with a drain! @ thank you! -
Well, after almost a year of waiting, I was finally sleeved yesterday! Because I have sleep apnea I had to stay one night in the surgical center and am home today. I am surprised at how good and normal I feel! Certainly there is pain, but not what I was expecting. I can drink Water and Isopure with ease and am going to have some powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken broth later today. i want to give a big thank you to this forum and all the post-op folks that have taken time to answer questions and tell their own stories! Feeling super excited and positive, I cant wait for these first few weeks to pass!

I'm in Seattle...I need my coffee...
Seahawkgirl posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm getting sleeved on Monday. My NUT made me promise that my last cup of coffee will be tomorrow morning. I'm sure there are things I should be more focused on, but I am honestly worrying about giving up coffee. How does everyone's DR handle coffee? Have you started drinking it again? Decaf or the real deal? -

I used to be an hourglass...hoping I will be again!! -
Think about what you would tell your best friend in this situation. You deserve better, you can't fix him and you should get out. Take care of yourself and be good to yourself!

Try using myfitnesspal.com. It's great because it will give you targets for fat/carbs/protein, etc. You can track your exercise and even how much Water you are drinking. It really helped me when I was doing my six month plan! You can even download it as an ap on your phone.

I think the ring snuggie thing is a good idea. I have a couple eternity bands that cant be sized, so I plan to wear them on bigger fingers. I told my DH he needs to plan to buy me some new ones!!

Oh my gosh, how scary! Glad you are doing ok now!!

Hang in there! Day two is early days. Keep us posted as you start to feel better!

Not looking forward to that, but good to know it happens to almost everyone. I'll be sure to take my measurements so I can track that part too. -

Oh, the scale. My friend, my enemy, my friend, my enemy. I think it's brave to give it up. I'm not sleeved until Monday, but I already know I am going to be a scale junkie.
