Impatiently waiting...June sleevers?
Seahawkgirl replied to Seahawkgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@mykdzmom Don't worry about the psych eval - I had mine and it was nothing, A lot of questions about my history of dieting and making sure I was realistic about what the sleeve can and can not do. It will be a breeze for you! Just another box to check on our way to approval -
Hi, I'm new and my name is Anna Martinez
Seahawkgirl replied to Anna Davidson Martinez's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome! I'm in month 3 of my six month supervised diet, and looking forward to getting a surgery date - hopefully in June!! I'm on these boards every day, it's a really great place to learn and be supported. Best of luck to you! -
Protein Shakes-What brand do you use?
Seahawkgirl replied to Chrissyg's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
This is a great resource I found from reading these boards - http://www.nashuanutrition.com They have sample sizes from dozens of different brands, I ordered a couple of each to try pre-op to see what I like. Most people say their tastes change after surgery though, so not stocking up too much. Good luck! -

Yay, a good group to buddy with! -
Having my surgery with Dr Harris at Puget Sound Bariatrics around June I think. Has anyone else had experience with him? The staff all seem to like him, I have only met him once and he seemed very capable.

Impatiently waiting...June sleevers?
Seahawkgirl replied to Seahawkgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had the psych eval and endoscopy. I need my sleep Dr. to clear me and then it;s just the last 4 NUT appts before submission to my insurance company. I feel kind of like I'm holding my breath for the next 3-4 months. Great to have these boards and people here to talk to! -
How often are you weighing yourself?
Seahawkgirl replied to bruni's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Someone taught me to weigh every day, then at the end of the week average the weights to get closest to your real weight. That way I don't panic over little fluctuations. -
Keeping it a secret? Anyone else
Seahawkgirl replied to Dualstarr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Grateful_Love Do you have to have a hernia repair? That's what I am telling people. It's perfectly true, it's just not the whole story. -
I'm not even sleeved yet and I'm already worrying about plastics, lol. I know I can get insurance to pay for the skin removal but really want the full "mommy makeover". Does anyone know about having plastics in Mexico?

About to hit the 2 year mark and no one still knows
Seahawkgirl replied to clifdog's topic in The Guys’ Room
@@clifdog Congrats on your two year anniversary! I have told my husband and best friend and that's it, I don't want to tell anyone else. I'm curious how you handled going out to eat with people, especially in the early weeks and months? -
The waiting is awful! I still have 4 NUT appts too - so thinking I will be sleeved July or August. I have been on these boards every day and have learned so much and found so many great Protein resources. I swear I could open a little protein powder/drink business with all that I have bought! Lol, I'm a little OCD. : )

Just getting started
Seahawkgirl replied to sring15's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Started my process in December. I have to do a 6 month supervised diet, so I am in Month 2 of that. The waiting is making me crazy! These boards help and myfitnesspal is my new best friend. Congrats on getting started!! -
How to ask for 6 days off at work

Can you get your PCP to provide you with a note? -
Feeling horrible
Seahawkgirl replied to Diane Grimm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's what I was thinking - try to get in more fluid and see if that helps. Feel better! -
Hooray! Congratulations!!

Looking for anyone with experience with the Regence insurance for King County employees. I'm about to have my second of 6 NUT appts, curious how others have done getting approved.

Conflicted about discussing surgery with family, coworkers, etc.
Seahawkgirl replied to Healthy2015's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are tons of threads about this same topic and a wide variety of feelings about it. I've chosen to tell my husband and bestie and that is it. I'm making this decision for myself and I don't feel it is any one else's business, I for sure will not tell anyone at work. I'm a private person and wish to keep this to myself. Good luck with your decision!! -
Heartbroken and eating my feelings. Darn it! Bad diet day...back on the horse tomorrow

January 2015 - The Beginning
Seahawkgirl replied to Modest_Phoenix's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi @@Modest_Phoenix! I too started my journey in January. 1/5 was my first appt with my NUT to start the 6 month supervised diet. I've been using myfitness pal and have lost 20 since then. I'm a whiz at losing....just can't keep it off. I have told my husband and best friend and don't intend to tell anyone else. I foresee some tricky times ahead, especially at work, but I'm a private person and don't wish to be the focus of conversation, -
Hi all - I'm 46, will be 47 in another 6 weeks...I have been married for almost 24 years and have three kids (22,18, 16). I'm pre-op in my second month of a six month supervised diet. It's so nice to read all the comments from people who have been successful!! Very inspiring!!

Ladies, what do you consider your ideal dress size ?
Seahawkgirl replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ideal would be 6/8. That said, if I were in a 10/12 I would be beside myself with joy!!! Still pre-op so that seems unimaginably far away right now.
