  2. Exciting! Good luck, I hope you have an easy journey
  3. @@OKCPirate - great idea to add Protein powder to coffee! @@Margie122 - I'll give you a pass because my nephews live in Boston . I dont use sugar and just a splash of cream, so I'm ok on calories. I do like tea, I'll have to find some fun choices to tide me over!
  4. @@Babbs I love Dutch Bros! We don't have it here but my grown up daughter lives in Corvallis and it's always a treat when we visit. @@BLERDgirl great point about the acid. Ok, a month...six weeks...I can do that!

    Bras...

So, I am starting this at 46DDD. Ugh. I have surgery a week from tomorrow and am distracting myself from my nervousness by going through old clothes that haven't fit in awhile, getting them ready to be worn again sometime soon! The one thing I don't have in multiple sizes is bras. Ladies - how did you handle changing band sizes? Do I need to plan on buying new bras often or resign myself to the uni-boob of sports bras?
  6. I had the six month wait. Nutrition classes required by my insurance company. I only lost about 22 pounds the whole time. I was approved by insurance with no problem.

    I can't wait to.....

Leggings and boots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Going on a 2 week vacation to Disney/Universal/Cruise to Bahamas for my 25th anniversary in April. I cant wait to buy new clothes for that trip! Of course, I am looking forward to better health, less pain, longer life, etc, but it's the clothes and shoes and swimsuits that have me excited!

    Telling your kids

I am choosing to go with the same Hiatel hernia cover story I am using with everyone else. My kids are 23, 19 and 16 and I don't want to worry them.

    October 12th surgery

I'm on the 12th too!! I don't have liquid diet, I just have to stay below 40 carbs a day. I shouldn't say just because it is surprisingly difficult! I am using a low carb Protein drink for one meal a day to get in the habit for after.
  10. What airline? Most have belt extenders available to add several inches. I hate asking and I fly enough that I bought my own on amazon. Cant wait until after surgery next month, hopefully I wont need it much longer!
  11. @@ShellyGalliherReno and @@sk110857 I am October 12th as well! I started my pre-surgery diet over the weekend. I'm just low carb though, not liquid. I dont know how I would do with that!

    Having 2nd thoughts

@@Babbs I was thinking the exact same thing!! I'm scheduled 10/12 and am freaking out a little. But I am done with the insanity as well, so am committed to the surgery. Afterall, a had a touch of cold feet before I got married...and we'll be celebrating our 25th anniversary 6 months after my surgery! I think doubts are a normal part of any big life change.
  13. October 12th!! Just got my date today!! So soon and yet so far way....!
  14. Going through my insurance required six month supervised diet. Very anxious for time to pass to get my surgery. I finish in May, so am optimistically looking at June for surgery. Anyone else around my stage? Isn't the wait killing you????
  15. Can you, or can you not stretch out your sleeve? I have read a ton of stuff on this site and have seen a variety of answers. It seems to me that the stretchy bit is removed with surgery so I am inclined to think no. Maybe people mistake the natural increase in eating ability that would come as swelling diminishes with stretching? Discuss,,,
  16. Well.... started this topic thinking I would be sleeved in June, then I thought July and now (due to a 10 day vacation in July) I am looking at August and considering waiting til September when my son goes back to school. I have mixed feelings as I am anxious to start my journey, but at the same time I want to have a stress free stretch of time to fully recover. I have seen a number of people who may be slipping to July, so maybe we can just be "impatiently waiting SUMMER sleevers!" I want this change to be for a lifetime, so in the greater scheme of things a few weeks is really meaningless. So glad for those who have had or will have surgery this week. Hope to hear from each of you so that we know you are well. In the meantime, my paperwork is ready to be submitted to insurance so I should get my approval within the next couple weeks. So weird to have my last NUT appointment. I'm going to work really hard to keep up my weight loss between now and whenever I end up having surgery.
  17. @@mclorrie, so happy for you!!! Whoo hoo!
  18. I don't think GNC carries Syntrax, but I could be wrong. I get mine here now along with samples of a ton of other brands. Once I knew which ones I like, it just seemed easier. I'm super lazy so I get everything delivered. http://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/protein-powders/protein-powder-samples-1-serving.html?_vsrefdom=google1&gclid=CPLymv7itcUCFZRgfgod304A1w
  19. @jaxmom1974 http://www.mybariatricpantry.com/SYNTRAX_NECTAR_PROTEIN_POWDER_SAMPLES_p/nectar-sample.htm Started with this to find which ones I like. but you can find them at a lot of places, just google it.

    Where did I go wrong

You can always restart! You know what to do, because you did it before. Go back to basics - protein, protein, protein and water, water, water. If you cant take plain water try mio or powerade zero. You can do this!!!!
  21. @@haleylhs Wow, sounds like you are doing really well getting prepared! I like Premier Protein too, even the chocolate. I also have the syntrax nectar products and they are good as well. Good to know about the centrum chewables, I have some bariatric ones now, but they were given to me by my NUT and I wasn't sure about ordering more.
  22. @@haleylhs I have one more appt to go! I have all my other boxes checked, so hoping for a quick turnaround for approval and an early surgery date. Try not to stress it won't help anything. I know it's much easier said than done...so I'm talking to myself too! Are you seeing a nutritionist? What are they telling you?
  23. @@mclorrie Thank you! So happy for you!! I'm better now - a few weeks is not going to make a difference to the YEARS of better life I will have. We're going to be awesome!! @@mykdzmom I'll hope we both go in June, but if not, we can be July buddies!!
