  1. I am happy to hear that I am not the only one...and it can grow back! I will be 6 months post surgery on the 8th and have had a lot of hair loss, but I also started taking a thyroid med after my surgery and thought it was more because of that. I take Biotin but I have not seen a great change in the past 4 months. I will gladly exchange some hair for the 84 lbs weight loss so far! I hope it grows back but if I have thin hair, I can live with that. I would rather have my health any day.

Jill pill 6 months no weights? I would double check that with them...that seems like a really long time.

Body fat % big decrease but weight stable

Lani789 I had a day like that today too...went shopping for some new items and slipped into a size 16...I started at a 22/24 and I had taken an 18 and a 16 into the dressing room today. I burst into tears when I buttoned those shorts - I am totally shocked, but so happy. I have been avoiding buying clothes because I know I will be changing (only 4 months post op now). I am glad I went today!

    Feeling a little guilty

Mrssugarbabe I am no 4 months post op and started my lifestyle change about 2 1/2 months before surgery so about 6 months since I had a soda. I was a big diet Pepsi drinker - like 6 / 8 a day and I was at a school function and they only had soda, I tried a diet Pepsi and it tasted disgusting! Totally disgusting to me - you may not like diet coke if you get around to trying it

    Feeling great today :-)

I am having a great day too! I slipped into a size 16 (us) and I was also a size 22/24. So thrilled I started crying at the store. Congrats!
  6. I am 4 months post surgery now and I did not have any interest in food for about the 1st 10 days for sure. My doc gave me medication for the nausea and I took that for about 10 days. As I am 4 months out I will share a rainbow with you...I was a solid 24/22 size when I started and today slipped into a size 16! I about burst into tears...I took a size 18 into the dressing room, just in case. Very happy day today. I am 75 lbs down and feel fantastic! I feel healthy...which is such a blessing.
  7. I am currently 12.5 weeks post op and I am still looking for a better way to track my Protein and meals. Do you use an app to track your information? I have a 20 ounce Water bottle that I keep rubber bands around and every time I fill it up I move a rubber band. knowing that that needs to be at least three times a day it keeps me on track. I am a mobile worker that spends a lot of time in my car so lunch meals are sometimes difficult for me. Sometimes I have access to a microwave and sometimes I do not. I have had days where I brought food with me but didn't end up eating because I had nowhere to heat up my food, which I know is not good. does anyone else struggle with working on the road? I have had days where I substitute a Protein Drink for a meal but I do get sick of the protein drinks!

    Losing so rapidly!

Lenci- I was surprised at how little "waste" I passed my first month! It is a little more regular now 3 months out but never everyday. In the first few weeks I went days and days without a BM...dr said it was ok. You may have constipation from pain meds too...that really bothered me and I had to stop taking it at about 10 days out but I was doing ok by then.

    One week till surgery

Good luck to everyone's success. I am 12.5 weeks post op but truly remember these feelings. A few things I did not know to expect after surgery... It is difficult to drink enough Water. The nurse told me to sip from the tiny medicine cup and she was so right! I used that cup for like the whole first week to 10 days...tiny sips. Lots and lots of tiny sips! If you don't have one, get a body shaper for when you go back to work. Sitting in a chair all day is much more difficult than sitting on your couch. The body shapers support helps ALOT Don't even try to eat bread - it hurts! I know we are supposed to do all low carb but even a few bites are terribly uncomfortable...just not worth it. They told me not to drink 30 mins before and after a meal, they are right...you will be sick if you drink while eating. I could hardly imagine not drinking when I ate, but you just can't. While there was some discomfort, it was not anything I would not do again in an instant! It took me 6 weeks to get back to sleeping in my bed, I was much more comfortable sitting up in a recliner. Take biotin!!! I am losing my hair like crazy - take biotin! I just recently started that, no one told me that...now my hair is very thin. Best wishes to all - it gets better! I feel so great being able to feel more comfortable in clothes, sliding into a booth at a restaurant I am going on a zip line next month with my sons Boy Scout Troop. I did not go last year when I found out the weight limit was 250 lbs and it was one of the things that drove my decision to have WLS. I am down to 237 today and know I will be further in my journey by the end of next month!

    Almost 6weeks out rant

I can sympathize with you! I lost 10 my first week...then only like 4 lbs over the next 4 weeks! I was shocked because I was hardly eating. I felt horrible but after week 5 I got into a steady loss cycle. I only get on the scale every 7 - 10 days and I stay away all the other days. I was obsessing about the scale and it was not good. Now 12.5 weeks post op I am down 63 total from my highest weight. Hang in there! Don't get discouraged it really has not been that long. I know it feels like that number should be moving faster - I do know! Keep drinking water, get your protein, exercise...take your vitamins!

    11 Weeks Post Op.......WOO HOO!

I know exactly how you feel! I am about 12 weeks post op and also down 63 lbs so far. I finally went a got some new clothes and I feel so great in them! Feeling comfortable in clothes is something very weird for me...I am sure I am not alone in that feeling. I have also started wearing heels again! It has been so long since I would put a pair of heels on my feet...I forgot how good it can feel. Congratulations on your success!

    A New Day

I had surgery Oct 18. At that time I was wearing a size 22/24 pants. Walking through the parking lot today I felt my underwear sliding down inside my pants! I have a belt for my pants but clearly I need new underwear! I did go to the store and slipped right into a size 18 which made me very happy.

    A New Day

My biggest surprise after surgery was not being able to lay down flat on my bed. I pretty much stayed on my recliner couch for about 6 weeks. Also the first day I went back to work after about 10 days post surgery...I hurt so bad sitting up in my chair all day. It was so different from sitting in my recliner at home! It helped a lot to wear a body shaper - just having the extra support did wonders for my comfort

    EeEkK!

That is awesome - take it easy, I totally underestimated how much my recovery would take out of me. A nurse in the hospital told me to sip water from the medicine cup instead of from the bottle - that was the best tip I got! It took like 10 days before I could take a sip from a bottle directly. I did not except that.
