@@kikilay17 CONGRATS AND WELCOME!!! I am also 25 years old, from CT, scheduled for Gastric Bypass next Wednesday, April 29! I'm ready to finally take control of my life and stop my weight from holding me back. I am getting married next year, and like you said, want to be healthy to have children and start a family. Most of all, I just want to live a long and happy life. I wish you luck in everything and hope you get approved soon! Let's keep in touch

@@pgarcia0812 I guess there's a higher risk with GERD with the bypass so my dr makes us take an anti-acid... just another pill on top of the HUNDREDS we are already taking! Speaking of pills, are all of your Vitamins in a chew-able or liquid form? Any tips on where to buy the vitamins without breaking the bank? I went to GNC and walked right out because everything was crazy expensive! @@sweettooth2015 congrats to you too and stalk away! Do you have Oxford for insurance? I'm very nervous too! My surgery is next wed (april 29) and I'm EXCITED yet SO SCARED! I just had an appt with pre-admission to get blood work, ekg, medical history...it finally feels REAL! You will be fine, what surgery are you considering?
-
AHH you are the BEST! Thank you soooo much! I'm definitely prepared to get up and walk around the day of surgery, so hopefully I won't have to stay at the hospital that long either! My job is a desk job too, so I'm only taking a week off. My surgery is on a wed so I'm taking wed, thurs, fri that week, and the following week depending on how I feel I may go in on wed or thurs. Thanks so much for the links to the Protein shakes, I'm def gonna check out those samples! I'm very picky when it comes to Protein Shakes so that's awesome you can buy samples before buying the huge tub! I'm nervous for the puree/liquid part of the diet because I feel like I won't get full... If you have a lot of excess skin, would you consider the plastic surgery? I know I am LOL! My friend had it done and she said it was painful as hell, but so worth it. As far as the Vitamins go, I have not got them yet. I'm gonna go this weekend to get all the stuff I need. Does your dr require you to take an anti-acid everyday? I'm so glad I can talk to someone who JUST had it done! Thanks so much

That's AMAZING! CONGRATS! Now I'm going to stalk your life How long were you in the hospital for and how long before you could return to work? Any suggestions on Protein shakes (brands, flavors, etc)? What does your diet consist of now? What were you eating during the liquid/puree time period? Sorry for all the questions! One of my biggest fears is loose skin. I know it is going to happen whether I like it or not, but I want to do everything in my power to make it less noticeable (esp on my arms).

YAY!! I'm glad you are doing well! How much weight have you lost so far? Any advice? I have Oxford insurance so I had to see a nutritionist for 6-months and I lost some weight (maybe 5-8 pounds tops). I wasn't required to lose any weight, but now I'm on the pre-surgery diet so I'm sure I will lose a little more. I am also getting the bypass and am SUPER EXCITED, but really nervous too

Hahaha OH BOY! They actually just switched my surgery date to April 29 NEXT WEEK! AHHHH! What procedure did you have and when?! How are you doing?? @@pgarcia0812

@@pgarcia0812 LOL! I meant I was so nervous I was shitting bricks, not literally. HAHA! This just made my day

@@Stephanie Salsera Perrott YAYYYYYYYYYY CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!! This is so exciting!!!! All that worry for nothing Keep me updated on what date you get, and I'll do the same! -
@@dlmadeja27 YAYYYY! I'm so new at all this so I'm glad I have a friend @@LeeBee17 your dress is GORGEOUS! I love the design and know you'll look stunning in it! Did/do you girls know what kind of dress you wanted before the weight loss and now that you lost the weight, do you like something different? For example, I HATE my arms! I have that gross, flabby, bat-wing thing going on so I don't want strapless. But I feel if I lose weight, I'll change my mind (or not if my loose skin is bad). I'm sure I'll have to see once I lose the weight and try on dresses...

@@Stephanie Salsera Perrott hay girly! I just wanted to let you know that last night I called my insurance and I was APPROVED for my surgery! I'm just waiting on my surgeon's office for a date. So I guess you can still be approved even if you gain weight during the 6 months! How are you doing and what month are you on?? -
@@LeeBee17 Thanks and congrats to you girlfriend! Make sure to post lots of pics @@dlmadeja27 Haha LUCKY, I wish my mom could do my alterations! I would love to lose 100-150 lbs before the wedding! If I have my surgery in either May or June, I should have enough time to get my butt in shape! You will def lose the weight!! And your surgery date is on my brother's birthday so it'll be good luck!
-
@dlmadeja27 thank you and congrats to you too!! I am nervous about wedding dress shopping because I feel like my body is going to be constantly changing and I'm gonna have to spend a ton on alterations! But nothing will be better than walking down the aisle as a HEALTHY person!

I have been wondering the same thing! I called Oxford and they said as long as it is a motivated attempt of weight loss for 6-months and your doctor or nutritionist is noting your progress, you should be fine. I even asked if I gained weight would I get denied and they said no. I also asked my nutritionist and she said the same thing and has never experienced any authorization issues with Oxford. That makes me feel better, but I’m still terrified of getting denied! I had 4 nutritionist appts already…the first two I lost about 5 pounds altogether and the third one I gained a pound (after the holidays). I actually have my fifth appt tonight and I know I gained some weight back UGH! I’m just nervous that all this weight gain is going to get me denied and I’ll have to do this whole process again!
