weight challenge - Thanksgiving to New Years Eve
LovingWhatIs replied to losingjusme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sweeeet, Baby! Nice job, chickie. Thanks for the inspiration -) -
I am convinced that it is a muscle spasm. That's the only conclusion I could come to, considering it's location, sudden onset, and sudden departure. Although I am not a doctor, I play one online. ha ha.

I love what you said. I have a friend who says she just can't get motivated to exercise, and I told her what my mentor told me: Motivation is the RESULT of exercise, not the precursor. So true. If I wait for motivation to "do", I wait and wait. When I finally do whatever it is (clean a closet, jog, wash a dog, trim a horse) then I feel all revved up and motivated. The whole thing is backwards!

Cool Karleen, thanks. I am going to try it. AND I LOVE YOUR QUOTE! That is the deal, isn't it!

Another self-sabotage opportunity to avoid

i have a cool little trick for determining if I am really hungry, or "Head Hungry" (I love that phrase too, says it all!) I pick a food that I don't hate, but wouldn't be something I seek out. For me it is cottage Cheese. Then I ask myself. Am I hungry enough to get excited about eating a cup of cottage Cheese? If the answer is no, I drink water! The trick is picking a food you don't hate, but love only when you are really hungry. For what it is worth. -

Nice Job, Jeni! Woo Hoo! -
:clap2:You ask that goofy Surgeon anything you want - it sounds to me like a question from someone who doesn't settle for winging it and cares about her health and understanding things clearly. Good for you - AND KEEP ASKING. That's what we pay them the big bucks for! LOL.

After tomorrow, my sushi days are probably over, Crystal (I go for an adjustment). Hey, have you guys noticed how beautiful everyone is on this board? Seriously, I love looking at everyone's avatar, and seeing the remarkable beauty of each of us; and it has nothing to do with our sizes. We are just lovely. Be a great day... -
and you can do this!

Send me you address (private@meetingyourmind.com) and I will send you a free CD sampler and mini-book of the book. I send em out for free, just cause it's fun! LOL.

That's hilarious! "Reversed Course" I love it! It is so weird, I can eat a whole bag of steamed veggies, but 1 teaspoon of chicken and I am in dreadful pain. It doesn't "reverse course" just hurts like hell. Anyway, thanks for the laugh - too funny. I go for another adjustment tomorrow so I know it will be mushy's for a week - I'm a sweller! hahhahaha -
I totally agree. The taste is remarkably fresh. Welcome to the UNJURY Homepage

Hey 5grnkidz. Welcome to the board. Exciting about your beginning this journey. I just got banded sept. 11th. Still learning a lot but no regrets. It is so nice to feel that I have some support (on this board and with my appliance). I struggled silently and alone with this for so long. LOVE TO YOU. Lisa Do The Work at the Satori Center for The Work as Facilitated by Lisa Holliday Lee | Satori | Lisa Holliday Leah Let us know how we can support you. Also, the book "Loving What is" by Byron Katie helps me a lot - her work helps me deal with my stressful thoughts that always led me to eat. I used it to give up alcohol and cigarettes a couple years ago, and in combination with the band, her process, called "The Work" is so helpful and powerful, and results in a remarkable joy. And it is easy to do. I am definately a girl who needs to keep it simple.

Good luck Tara! I am not far from you, I am in Berryville, about and hour 15 from you. I go to Harrisonburg for body work once in a while at Wholistic Wisdom. After you healed you should check out Sandra at Wholistic - she works on all levels of body healing, from the physical to the spiritual realms. And me being a huge skeptic can say she is remarkable! I am excited for you - maybe we can meet for lunch (little one, hahahahhaha) one of these days! GOOD LUCK NEXT WEEK, kIDDO! Why is CHICKEN So HARD TO EAT?

I can identify! Thank god I love Lite Tofu - I cube it and toss it with really fun saues like soy Ginger, or Szechuan spicy stir fry sauce. A whole box is only about 300 calories, which doesn't suck. BlooEyez' idea of using chicken strips sounds like a good one - I am gonna try that for sure. It's a shame cause my beloved husband eats chicken every night - I think it is because he enjoy the excitement of grilling (and standing outside and drinking a beer, hahahhaha) At least i don't have to worry about him getting into my food. -
Book on Head Hunger?
LovingWhatIs replied to MollyBrown's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Byron Katie's (AKA Katie) Besteselling Book, "Loving What Is", is the singularly best book I have every read (and teaches you her simple 4 question and "turnaround" process to follow) to deal with the thinking that leads to overeating, drinking or any of the other things we do to medicate our thoughts. I could NEVER have gotten through this lapband process without using these 4 questions. I also gave up alcohol, drugs and cigarettes over 1 1/2 years ago using the process which is called "The Work". It helps me identify my stressful thoughts, question them, and miraculously they "let go of me". I don't need to change my thoughts, I just question them, and they leave me - and "Peace" is what's left. I rarely eat "emotionally" anymore. If, like me, you start reading it and it sounds too simple, don't give up - I stuck with it, and as my husband says, "I have a whole New, Wonderful, Wife!" And this is PRIOR TO WEIGHTLOSS. Also her book, "I need your love is that true" Is just as amazing and explains how to do this work and also a lot more about how we seek "Love, Appreciation and Approval. You can see video demos of the process, called "The Work" at www.thework.com. You do not need a teacher or to buy a bunch of stuff; it is a simple process where YOUR answers are all you need, these 4 questions are soooooo penetrating and you get to tap into a self-wisdom that you may have had no idea you possessed. And the process is SIMPLE! You can contact me anytime if you need help - at no charge of course. I just love sharing this remarkable tool. There is a free hotline too, at the website, and so much free support from Katie, it is unprecedented. Give it a try, and if you want, I still have some boxes of free cds and mini-books I can send you until they run out. I will send you a set. But her book is at any bookstore, or you can ask them to order it, or get it on her website. I am not affiliated with Byron Katie International. I am not trying to sell anything. I just think this the THE WORK for those of us that struggle with food and other compulsions and I love spreading the word. LOVE TO YOU ALL! -

oh some people get diarrhea and gas from protein powders. It depends on the quality and the additives, from what I hear.
-
Unjury Strawberry mixes really well - even with water! I love to mix some into vanilla shakes, or just by themselves while I am on the run...

Looking for Great Doc in Virginia
LovingWhatIs replied to Moongirl's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
THIS is not the Hampton Roads area, but Dr. Eric Pinnar is EXCELLENT. This is all he does, and he has a dedicated Filler so you never have to wait long. Might be worth the drive. He is in Reston, VA. -
unjury ROCKS! That is what I use. High quality Protein, low carbs, low calories and DELICIOUS! The chicken Soup is amazing. I have one every day. And they all have 20 GRAMS of protein and only 90 calories for the soup and it is so good. and filling! AND NO PROTEIN SIDE AFFECTS LIKE OTHERS....
