Ate/ drank too much 5 days post op? Help!
minniegirl replied to Jazmundo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Please call your surgeon? Having excessive vomiting 5 days after the new sleeve was formed is a really good reason to call. Feel better asap. -
Yep I agree, I know my surgeon does many successful surgeries and I have a feeling he wont be extreme one way or the other. Im sure I will feel better after we talk about it tuesday.
-
it seems like it is both. I would think if a surgeon uses a small bougie but does NOT actually use it as a template or guide then doesn't that leave a lot to chance as far as the size pouch we wind up with?? I am confused too.

What NSV are you look foward to?
minniegirl replied to Idonerds's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YES crossing my legs not being the largest person in my entire family not having to worry about the chairs I sit in (hearing that familiar sound of wood under stress) not worrying that I have irreparably SQUASHED someones couch cushions I want to parasail & zipline, I would never do it at this size giving myself a pedicure and actually being able to breathe climbing the stairs with out getting winded not having to JUDGE every space I need to fit thru because I don't want to be embarrassed having just ONE chin and looking cute in new CLOTHES! -
R Rustynail, I consulted with dr Greco but dr Reich is doing my surgery at SOCH 2/24. I am sorry to hear you have had such a hard time of it, glad you didn't have any serious dehydration issues!! Do you know what size bougie was used for your surgery?

Feeling horrible
minniegirl replied to Diane Grimm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope you feel better asap!! Are you having trouble getting in the fluids and protein? I plan on going back to work 8 days post op and am afraid for this exact reason. I am a nanny and it will be sooooo miserable if I am just feeling sick, lightheaded, exhausted AND having to prep food. I think I may ask surgeon if he recommends longer. -
HELP How do I get all my protein?
minniegirl replied to chip305's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My sample diet from 8+ weeks shows TWO protein shakes per day in addition to 3 meals. I also wonder why some NUTs would say no protein shakes?? -

I have a surgery date!
minniegirl replied to ashsleeved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
CONGRATULATIONS!! Compared to what I read here regarding what some people have to go thru to get approval I also feel that this has been EASY so far, a lot crammed into a short amount of time, yes, but still easy. I had a surgery date on my first consultation (contingent on my completion of pre op testing) and a letter of approval from insurance before I even went for my first test!! I start my pre op diet next Tuesday and I cant wait. I LOVE all my unjury protiens, my new best friend -
all because I had pop :(

Anyone have suggestions for preparing for surgery and recovery?
minniegirl replied to Bino's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definitely good advertising BUT I have tried the Unjury choc, van, strawberry and the chix soup and they are all EXCELLENT. No hint of anything weird whatsoever. I ordered all my Protein and all my Vitamins from Unjury yesterday, $233 for 3 months of vitamins and about 5 weeks of protein. Seemed like a lot to me at first but as I think about it it really isn't bad, and I AM WORTH IT lol -
all because I had pop :(
minniegirl replied to paristupperware's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That doesn't seem quite fair to me!! Seems very harsh, especially in light of your HONESTY and the 20lb loss As swampdoggie said, just STAY THE COURSE, you are in this for the long haul so soon enough the month wont matter. -
Unjury Chicken Broth
minniegirl replied to jenbaby75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just tried it for myself today, I thought it was very good!. Ordered 10 packets to have as a change of pace, along with 6 containers of Protein powder, 2 choc, 1 vanilla 1 strawberry and 2 unflavored (going to try adding a bit to other foods and broths) I also tried the chocolate supreme today and while it was deeeelicious, it was a bit too sweet for me so I was thinking I could use 2/3 of a flavor and 1/3 of unflavored for my shakes.. -
Congrats on being so close, how exciting!! Soon all the worry and fear will be over and you will be on your way! No looking back, best of luck, joy and success!

Shopping at Victoria's Secret? I would have NeVeR imaged it!
minniegirl replied to FitnFabfor2014's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow that is so cool, major congrats!! Shopping at VS is near the top of my list of things I cant wait to do! In the meantime I have some bids on cute VS things on ebay, sixe xl, I figure it may be no time before I should be able to wear their xl in some things -
My surgery is coming up soooo fast, 3 weeks. I cant wait to start my new days but until I do I am pretty scared. Just came from a visit with a friend who was sleeved in June, hes down from 313 to 197!!! He talks about everything from the day of surgery on like it was just no big deal and says all he regrets is not doing it sooner. Assures me I will feel the same & to stop worrying. Not gonna happen til I am on the other side of surgery.
-
Good for you, such a great attitude and outlook. I kinda feel the same, I have no serious health issue YET, but I decided what am I waiting for? Did I really want to wait until I DO have a serious issue? Heck no!!!!! Best of luck and joy to you!

Surgery on 16 February 2015 - getting scared
minniegirl replied to Sophieteel's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I cant answer any of your questions but I wanted to tell you I wish you the best of luck, easy recovery and joy in your new tiny tummy!! Mine is 2/24 and I cant push away the fears even though everyone who has had this says almost all good things, they says "its hard at first but it will quickly be the best decision you have ever made". I really have faith that this will be true but I think until I am on the other side of it I am just going to be scared. This is ok.
