Oh yeah and Ginger thanks for the compliment/message. This is the beginning of a new life for me and just want to be as ready as I can be. I wish you and your family the best in the present and the future.

Thanks and I agree. I gave birth to my son and was released the same day with him. Within a few hrs of being home I walked to grocery store and got a few things for my 2yr old daughter and my dad(rip) who had advanced Parkinsons. I spent my day as though it was like every other day..lol just with an extra baby. Then a few yrs ago I had my tubes tied and again was released same day. I did the same thing as before spent my day like every other day....being a mom. I am not complaining at all but just explaining my situation so apologize if you thought I was complaining. I am getting the surgery not for me but for my kids. I love them. They are my life. Just want to be more active with them and be in better health so I can take care of them for as long as needed.

Thanks again and hope all goes well for you.

Lenci thanks again for your message. What are ways I can stop or minimize the sagging of the "extra" skin?
-
Maggie thanks for the message. No I have no family support. I'm basically the black sheep out of the family. Lol I had my last son and when I got out of the hospital (same day) I went grocery shopping and did what I had to do as a single mom with a newborn son and 2yr old daughter. Had tubes tied few yrs back and when I was released and got back home I went to the store and did the same thing. Reason for me telling all this is I have been through alot in life most I can't say here. I am a mother first then e everything else. I know recovery will be hard, probably harder then I can imagine but I know I can make it. I have no choice other then to make it. I live for my kids, they are why I'm doing this.

Thank you James.

Lenci thanks for the info. I have seen pics and that show "my 600lb life". It just looks nastier then just being fat. So it's like I'd rather be fat then have all that extra skin hanging if insurance doesn't cover the removal. I'll just ask them about it my next appt which is in about 8 days.

Thanks Eli..will do

Jersey thanks.. I'm just not sure on any of that. How is it working for you?

Lenci congratulations on your 16lbs. Gives me something to look forward to. Does anyone know if insurance covers the surgery of removing the extra flappy skin due to the fast weight loss?
-
Do you loose any weight at all just from the surgery? Like right after you get the surgery do you weigh less than you did before?

Can you ever eat "Normal" food again?
Susan33 replied to smoggie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Amy I agree with not going out to eat. Just with my kids it's hard. I can't stop taking them out just cause my diet needs to change. This is my plan: Well 1st my grandpa died of weight related issues and died at home when my dad was 5. My other grandpa died of weight related issues before I was born. I don't want that for my kids. Don't want to die at home or while they are so young. Yes I want to lose weight to feel better and all but it's more about my kids. I am doing this for them. So I can be a better role model for them and be more active with them.. So back to my plan: When I take them out to eat I will bring a healthy meal for my self. I will take the dogs for longer walks and more often....list goes on. I will need to find healthier vegetarian meals as well. If anyone has any tips please offer them. -

I am so excited to start my new life. Just nervous I'll mess it up. I am a full time single mom of 2 young kids(1with severe adhd and odd). Just hope I can stick to the diet and make separate food for my kids. Wish there were people in the same position or atleast close to it near me. It just would be nice to have that support.
