 I am about one week away from surgery as I have my final appointment this Thursday at which I will sign consent forms and get my date for surgery which is about one week after the consult appointment. I began this journey November 17, 2014. I decided in October that I would no longer yo-yo diet and would make a conscious decision to have the weight loss surgery. I had already completed the six months of supervised dieting by November and just needed to have the psych eval, meet with the doctor, physical exam and clearance from my primary, and sleep study; which with much diligence I was able to accomplish in one month. I waited about two weeks for the approval from my insurance, so over all this process has went pretty fast for me. At this point I am excited nervous, a bit scared, and a bit skeptical that this can work for me. I have been battling with obesity since I was 18 years of age, after giving birth to my first child. I lost about 90lbs at one point by diet and exercise, then gained it all back and then some with the birth of my second child. Since then I have had a up and down pattern losing no more than 50lbs at a time only to regain it twice as fast as I lost it. I am a mother of two wonderful children who deserve the best of me and I really hope that this procedure will give me my life back. I want to play with my kids and dance with my husband again as it has been over seven years since my last child was born and even more since I have actually been a weight that allowed me to feel flexible and free. I found this sight doing a search on google for weight loss surgery forums and have found this to be the most beneficial site for my needs. I just hope that I am as fortunate as so many others who have had the gastric sleeve on this site and have had wonderful results. I am a funny, outgoing, loving person who enjoys living life to its fullest. I am so ecstatic to see what life will hold for me as I continue to make this journey to take back my health.
