I heard the same thing that Sarah said. If you get rashes where the skin hangs over, go to the doctor to have it documented. I got a rash a couple of times right on the edge of my hanging belly near my hip that turned into small ulcers that bled a little. I really wish I would have seen a doctor about it, but now I know. Next time it happens I'm going PDQ!

Chris, I'm in the same boat as you. I have UHC, but Spiegel is no longer in network, so for out of network, ins only pays 80% and I have to pay 20%, instead of the $20 copay. Does anyone know if there is another fill dr who takes other dr's patients and who have UHC insurance?

Hope, I sent you a PM to answer your questions.

I haven't had any problems at all with fish, or any seafood for that fact. Imagine eating with an oyster fork or cocktail fork. That's about how big your bite should be.

I used to love Subway too. I haven't even touched bread since the day before my first adjustment back in October. Quite frankly, I'm afraid to, which is wierd because I can eat croutons no problem. Hmmm?

Leatha, I never thought of it this way. Thanks for the info! The light bulb just came on for me.

Yum! Which tastes the best?
cissy replied to sleepyjean's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
what makes me gag the most? ANY french fries, chicken strips & chicken nuggets from chick-fil-a. I used to love chick-fil-a but I can't eat there any more. -

Jess, you look absolutely wonderful! Thanks for sharing! I have seen lots of before & after tummy tuck photos, and not all doctors are able to recreate that natural curve in a woman's body, and their torso area ends up looking like a man's *ugh*. But not yours... you should kiss your plastic surgeon for your waist and your boobs. AMAZING!!

I originally set my goal at size 14, but my 16's now are getting baggy and I still don't like the way I look (currently: 14/16 on top; 16 on bottom) started out at 22W

Meeting very nice people in the class from the Dominican Republic & Matzalan, MX. -
I've been working out to Leslie Sansone Walk Away The Pounds (the 1 mile workout is low-impact for me, but the 2-mile really has me perspiring and gets my heart pumping). I found this one on DVD at wal-mart. I also do the original Billy Blanks TAE-BO. All within the comfort of my home.

Yep- I had it badly, but for some reason, I didn't gain any weight between the time I had my date set and the actual surgery date. I still have my moments. Just today I didn't feel like cooking when I got home so I went to Jack in the Box to get my daughter something to eat and I was looking at her Jumbo Jack with my mouth just watering! I asked her for a bite and she said NO! Mom you cannot have bread. Those are your words. I was like WOW! Words of wisdem from an 11-year old.

I am an analyst for a major mutual fund / investment company in Houston (reconciling bank accounts for one of the 3 Houston-based divisions). We have a presence in Houston, Denver, Atlanta, Toronto, London, and Hong Kong. I am in training to sell health/vision/dental/life insurance on the side.

Marcelle, please just talk to your DH, let him know that you are still you. I sure hope he comes around. Like you, I'm a touchy feely kind of person. I thrive on hugs and kisses from the ones I love. Right after I had my surgery my DH didn't want to touch me, but it was out of fear that he would hurt me. Finally after a couple of weeks I jumped him and said "I feel better now!" That's what got him back on track.

The major down side for me is that my family also celebrates over food. Ever since I was a teenager, I realized that my family bonds over the dinner table. I just dont enjoy eating like they do now, so when I'm done I get up from the table (so I won't tempt myself with more food) and miss out on the conversation. I knew that giving up soda wouldn't be a problem for me because I had done that several times pre-band and would lose a few pounds. I just knew for sure that I would miss bread. It only took one time after being banded for me to try bread and realize that I don't need it because it hurt like hell going down. Then the light bulb came on: it's not good for me so my body is telling me so. Breads = simple carbs = metabolizes into sugar. No thanks anymore!

Diane, here are your pics side by side. And again, you look great! Keep up the good work!

Rabbits and Turtles United New Year Challenge

start: 1/3/06 210 lbs 1/8/06 205 lbs (-5) 1/15/06 205 lbs (0) 1/22/06 203 lbs (-2) 1/29/06 205 lbs (+2) I had a bad week this week... binge eating... 2/5/06 204 lbs (-1) 2/12/06 201 lbs (-3) 2/19/06 200 lbs (-1) total: 10 lbs gone I have to admit, I only exercised one day last week. Bad Christi! DH even had something to say about it, which made it even worse. I could have slapped him, but instead, I resolved to get back on track this week. NSV: I found a belt that I bought many many years ago that before banding I had a gap of about 6" where it would not fit around my waist. I put it on just for the hell of it, and not only was I able to get it on, I got it into the 3rd hole! -
My doctor can't believe it.............
cissy replied to josephine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Josephine! 64 lbs in 3 months! I want to be abnormal just like you! That's incredible. Keep it up, don't let anything take that joy out of your life! Wow! Just amazing. I still can't get over it! -
:clap2: :whoo: You go girl! Great job!!

I told my doc the same thing when I got filled this week. At night, I feel like I can eat more than I should. He assured me that this was normal because the band loosens up at night. So... this is another reason why I try to stick to my rule of no eating after 6PM because I already know I can "pack it in".
