    I need some support

I think I would be wise to look at why your eating. It's not hunger (we know addiction is a factor) but I know for myself, and people I've worked with, eating fills another void. The carbs do release dopamine and make you feel good and there is a physical addiction, I know, but usually there's an underlying emotional, spiritual or mental one. Also, I eat more when my iron or vitamin d is low because it's a pick me up and I'm otherwise tired. Jus some food for thought

    Breastfeeding after surgery?

Honestly, you're not going to be able to do it. You won't be able to take in enough fluids to produce breast milk. Plus you're going to be on strong medications you won't be able to take in enough nutrition to sustain you and your baby so your body will stop supplying. I'm saying this as a La Lacha volunteer, breast feeder of five babies and sleeve patient. I hate that you'll have to choose but realistically, you'll have to. Or, get the surgery after you e weened your little one. Just saw your update and I'm totally shocked and so happy for you! I've never seen that happen. I've worked with lots of nursing mothers and you are truly blessed! Yay for you.

Getting to be impossible to lose!

I'm slowing too. Almost 8months out and have only lost 3 pounds in the last 6 weeks and have stalled for three or so. I'd like to lose 20 more too. I know I need to push it with exercise more. I guess we just keep on keeping on.
  4. If you do, don't expect huge, fast results like others get because you will have started on a completely different scale.
  5. Lots of cottage cheese. I'm almost 8months out and it's still a huge staple. I eat it plain, with jarred peaches or with hot sauce almost daily. I love the Daisy brand. I hate Kraft.

    Hair falling out!

I'm 7months out and started losing it at 4 months and peaked at 5-6 months. It was pretty bad. I've lost about half my hair. BUT it's not super noticeable. I had I'd say average thickness before and now I have relatively thin hair. It's thinner in the back of my head. I notice it and hate it and my head gets colder (I live in Alaska), and you can see more of my scalp than you used to (I'm blond) but no one else really sees it. It's worse for the patient because we see it coming out. My husband and son run their fingers through my hair a lot and they both commented in the last week that it's a lot thinner, but they both said it FEELS thinner and doesn't LOOK thinner. This is just a long way if saying that I was super scared of this and it's the worst part if the journey for me, but it's still not that bad, plus, it grows back in. It's worth the benefits I've had for sure.

    One year out!

That's totally inspiring! You look great! I'm in a 12 (started at tight 18), and hoping to get to an 8-6 ballpark. I'm 61/2 months out, I'm hoping to make it by a year! You've inspired me!

    One year out!

Wow, you look amazing! You don't have to answer this if you don't want to, I'll understand but I'm VERY curious, what size are you? You look like a 4-6.
  9. You look so happy! That's the best part. You've done great and are inspirational. I know you'll get to your goal.

Miserable in need of some great help

Try slowing way down. Also, when I drank really cold water it helps me with nausea.
  11. It was inconsiderate of him to not get your Popsicles. RUDE!!! And you're right, my husband just didn't think about it, annoying, but human. Glad you got your Popsicles. Yay for other women;)
  12. I've noticed the protein shakes constipate me. If I drink two a day, I get stopped up. If I drink one a day, I have a little harder time but it's bearable. Whey can be binding. Add that to iron and it can be an issue. Laxatives are the only thing that work if I drink a lot of shakes too. So, if you're taking in a lot of whey in shakes or bars or anything, that could be it.
  13. I've been thinking about this too. I was sleeved April 15th and I'm down 67 hoping for 80 by Halloween, which is when my 6 month honeymoon phase will be over. I'm hoping to keep losing (just slower). My plan is protein first, up the workouts, chew minty gum between meals to prevent grazing on the treats, and also, enjoy the holidays. I'll gave a few bites of my favorites and enjoy it guilt free. It's okay to do that in my book. And with the increase of energy I have now, I'll be more active and doing fun things instead of waiting around thinking about the next meal. OH...and I found if I wear tighter pants and get dressed up a little, it makes me eat less, even during football season. Hey, I'm from the south, football season is BIG! I get what you're saying. Good luck.
  14. My pain meds made me super aggressive. I had little patience and the smallest things would REALLY piss me off. A few days out of surgery I left some beef broth sitting on the counter to come back to later and for some reason I'll never understand, our 15 year old son asked if he could eat it for snack, even weirder, my husband said yes. When I came back for it and he told me he had given it away I was FURIOUS! Now, it WAS thoughtless of him to give away something that wasn't his, especially since it should have been obvious it was mine being on all liquids and all. And we don't just have broth sitting around the house waiting to be eaten all the time..................but I shouldn't have thrown my cell phone at him in full force, or called him and my son thoughtless jerks............I had a couple other outbursts but that was the worst one. We figured out it was the pain meds and I switched to Motrin during the day and oxy at night so I'd sleep through the bitchiness. Gotta say, he was super patient with me. I do NOT miss that. Also, I'd be the worst drug addict ever.
