Can I see some before and after pictures for the sleeve?
BigTink2LilTink replied to brookebrooke's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thank you. -
I think it depends on location and where you are at. Seeing how you are in Arkansas and I'm in MO the cost maybe similar than what might get done if you where on one of the coastal states. My sleeve procedure cost about $13/15K give or take. How long you stay in the hospital will definitely factor into the cost. The way my surgeon broke it down was like this: Hospital stay cost for 3 days: $3500 General Anesthesia: $1500 Sleeve Gastronomy Procedure: $7500 Antibiotic/Morphine: $2500 Because I had a pre-existing condition (Type 2 Diabetes) My insurance covered about 95% of the cost. I think my final out of pocket cost for this was about $500 with deductibles and other costs that insurance wouldn't pick up.

Can I see some before and after pictures for the sleeve?

No I never did the band. My surgeon recommened against it. And at the time I was considering surgery I knew of at least two people that had the band for years and they didn't lose much weight off of it at all. -

This was my last comparisons pictures from about 5 weeks ago. Pic to the right was about 6/7 years ago maybe 10 to 15lbs away from 600lbs. I was at or near my heaviest weight back then. And I'm now here in the 240-250's weight range. That what my sleeve has helped me achieve so far. Sent from my SM-N920P using BariatricPal mobile app -
Best way to disolve whey powder in liquids
BigTink2LilTink replied to doublek240's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup what he said. You have to get it below 140 or else the protein will begin to clump/gummy up and it won't be all that tasty at that point. -
This right here. There are things now that prior to the surgery I would consume because I enjoyed the way they taste and now, you couldn't pay me to eat them. Sent from my SM-N920P using BariatricPal mobile app

Why don't you start attending those support groups before you have your surgery? Get yourself around like minded people that can help you stay on track, when those times comes that you wanna get off track? I would say start hitting up those groups, meetings sooner rather than later. Good luck to you on your upcoming revision, and remember that change isn't immediate. Change is an ongoing battle won, one day at a time.

Glad I could be of help to you.

How do you view overweight people now that your thin?
BigTink2LilTink replied to doxaholic's topic in The Lounge
That guy is just a shallow a55-hole period end of discussion. Anyone that is shallow enough to instantly judge someone based on appearance alone is someone that shouldn't be dealt with in my opinion. I know we all have our traits, standards, and what we are attracted to, but again that's just so freaking shallow. I can tell you that before, and now post surgery, I have been with over weight, morbidly obese and normal weight partners. To me size, which does have a visual appeal depending on my mood/tastes/desires at the time, doesn't 100% count for what I take into consideration when I am interested dating/being with someone romantically. To be honest I am pan-sexual however I'm 110% attracted to women period. Their form, curves, size, breast, butt, personality, and emotional stability all has to fit into the right package for me to be interested. And sometimes that interest maybe in a woman that is a size 22, or she maybe in a size 8 after losing 150lbs or maybe she been naturally 130lbs all her life. The point is that there is more to people then how they look on the outside. Its what is inside of them that should matter the most when choosing someone to be with. My current primary partner is a woman who is indeed overweight. She's easily about 110-120lbs heavier than where I'm currently at now. She is working on losing weight and getting in better overall health and she attributes that reasoning because of my journey and all the hard ass work I've been putting in. For that applaud her because I do want her to be healthy both physically and mentally because she's still very young and its easier to make that change now. But if she didn't drop a single pound from where she is at today I would still be attracted to her. Because her soul is beautiful. Her heart is kind, and her intentions are very honest and sincere with regards to me and how she feels about me. And that will trump a 10 body any day of the week for me. I've been with women who were "10's" on the outside but they were "1's" on the inside. And I don't need that sort of nonsense and hurt in my life again. -
New body brings new partners -- many new partners
BigTink2LilTink replied to Done with this's topic in The Lounge
Maybe you are just not meant to be in a monogamy style of relationship. There isn't nothing wrong with being non-monogamous, as long as you are up front and honest with your self and your future partners about that. However there is a whole hell of a lot of wrong with cheating and misleading someone. Sound like you have a lot of marital issues that you need to resolve with your husband, whether it be counseling or if you agree that a separation/divorces is the proper course of action. I would strongly suggest you get that (marriage issues) resolved first before trying to take on any new relationship partners whether you are poly-amours or just married in an open-relationship dynamic. Because separation is not divorce, and if your husband isn't comfortable with you taking on multiple sexual partners, then your already damaging marriage is going implode on itself way more quicker than you can imagine. Trust me when I tell you that no one new worth being with is going to wants to come into a relationship where there is already underline drama at hand in it. And that is especially true, if you are coming in as said relationship a secondary partner or Friends with Benefit (FwB). Edit: Just realized that this was an almost 3 year old topic. Sorry for bringing it up to the top, just something I felt I could add some insight too on as I am a poly person and practice honest open non-monogamy relationship dynamics. -

Your surgeon should have covered that with you before the surgery, but I believe you are looking at about 2 to 4 weeks before you are moved to soft solid foods phase post surgery. Again, every doctor has a different recommendations so its best to error on the side of the guy/gal that took out your tummy vs a bunch of people that are on an online forum. -

Horrible that you had to physically become a different person in order to get recognized at work.
