Lately for me its been clothing for sure. Just the fact that I can buy so much more for the same price that I use to pay for one item of clothing. Prior to surgery a single pair of jeans would easily cost me anywhere from $80-130. Hell last week I got three pairs of jeans for under $30. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

Maybe you've gained muscle mass which could show as weight gain, but is totally different from gains due to fat. It sounds like you are on the right path to getting things figured out by contacting your nutritionist. But I wouldn't be surprised if your BMI has changes due to mucles mass increase, which makes weight loss seem slower than normal. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App -
Hugs to you madan. As someone else said, the surgery isn't the cause of this. And it can be quite the struggle to deal with all the changes from the surgery by itself let alone a marriage falling apart. As someone that's gone through a divorce I can say that it will take some time, but you will move on. You will find someone that will value all of you and not just parts and pieces of you. Righr now focus on the things you do have absolute control over. Yourself and your health will be key to getting through this emotional hurdle. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

Also I don't eat Peanut Butter daily either. Maybe once or twice a week at most. Too much of the pb gets me constipated like a river dam. And my girlfriend has a severe nut allergies, so because I enjoy making out with her constantly, I again limit my exposure to nuts and nut butters. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

I was about to post the same thing. PB2 got me through my cravings for peanut butter very early on. I still use it now, even though I've gone back to eating peanut butter. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

Thiamine (Vit. B-1) supplement question
BigTink2LilTink replied to WLSResources/ClothingExch's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Sadly I'm starting to see that also. I would strongly suggest contacting your doctor asap for issues with memory and then look at getting on suppliments. And if they say thiamin then get on them. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App -

Also remember to give yourself some time and more importantly slack. As my mom constantly reminds me, we've just put our body through some major trauma and it needs time to heal. Some of us take longer to heal than others. So be kind to yourself and do the best that you possibly can. In time you will get there. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App -
Iron constipation!
BigTink2LilTink replied to leonelbreton's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For Water intake I was using a 20oz Powerade bottle that I would fill with water and a few squirts of water enhancers like Mio. They would help give the water a juice like flavor with no added caloried or sugars. That would allow me to sip on those bottles all day at work. 20oz in the morning between 8am-11am. Then a second 20oz would take me through 12-4pm when I got off work. Then go work out and when you work out you'll consume that last 20oz of water a lot quicker post work out than when you did throughout the day. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App -
Iron constipation!
BigTink2LilTink replied to leonelbreton's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fiber and Water indeed. It sucks early on and I know its difficult. But not getting the fiber and water in causes the painful bowles or worse blockage due to solid stool. Post surgery for at least the first 6 months I lived on a daily regime of Metimucil mixed with about 4oz of orange juice. I knew I could get 4oz of fluids in within like 2 minutes without issues and if you let Metimucil sit too long the fiber will thicken up like Jello and then its gross. Please also check in with your surgeon as well. Not pooping can be a serious sign of troubles ahead. You need to be pooping at least 2 to 3 times a week. Even in the post op early on soft soild liquids on phases you should still be producing bile to pass off as stool. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App -
Thiamine (Vit. B-1) supplement question
BigTink2LilTink replied to WLSResources/ClothingExch's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Oh yeah Thiamine totally a must have for me. After short term memory loss post surgery I was on a prescription Thiamine for a month. Since then I've been taking an over the counter pill capsule thiamine suppliments I got from the Vitamin Shoppe. I've been doing it for the last 6 months or so and I indeed notice the difference. Memory has improved greatly and I'm able to focus and concentrate more now. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App -

Questions for Alcohol Drinkers ONLY!
BigTink2LilTink replied to Cape Crooner's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just wanted to update this post 5 months later. I still don't drink anywhere near as much as I use to prior to the surgery. But when I do go out and have a drink or two I have noticed that my tolerance has gotten a bit better. I still haven't gone back to my straight bourbon, whiskey, tequila shots. But mixed drinks, & wine coolers no longer get me immediately buzzed like they use to. I can take in about two to four drinks of those sort of alcoholic beverages before I feel anything now. Now keep in mind I sip on these things very slowly so one drink my last me 10 to 15 minutes. So if I'm out for two hours I may only have consumed up to 2 to 3 drinks max during that time frame. I'm not slamming them down like I'm in the dessert and dying of thirst. I'm also sure if I were to do the more harder stuff (whiskey, bourbon, tequila) I would feel it right away as if I was fresh off of surgery. I guess it just takes time for you to heal up and get somewhat of a tolerance back for it I guess. But I can totally see how it can become habit forming if your are getting buzzed drunk that quickly. You feel good, have not inhibitions to stop your good judgment, etc, etc. I still would totally advise on not doing it at least a good 8 - 12 months post surgery. And if you do go back to drinking, understand that what you could tolerate before and maybe even enjoyed, will indeed change. Be open up to trying new things a very very slow pace. And if at all possible have someone around you that can keep an eye on you to make sure you don't over do it. If you get buzzed drunk super quickly, you'll want someone around you that you can trust to stop you from continuing. Just my thoughts though. -
Went shopping yesterday and for the first time bought NON plus size clothes
BigTink2LilTink replied to krista132's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Way to go. I totally know this feeling. About two weeks ago I was able to put on a pair of jeans out of American Eagle. Was totally in shock. First time in my adult life I was basically free to shop wherever I want to for clothing with no restrictions. In less than 16 months I've gone from a 5XLT to an XLT and from a 58/56 waist to a 38 waist. Its by far an amazing experience to be a part of. To have your body change so drastically in the good way too I might add. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App -
Your pouch could still be swollen from surgery. It takes a while for it to really heal up. Just take your time with eating and drinking. Also if the vomiting doesn't stop and you dind yourself throwing up everytime you eat or drink call your doctor. Too much vomiting will cause you to go into dehydration and malnutrition. And from someone that suffered from both, you want to avoid it at all cost. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

Yeah taste and smells has indeed been heighten post surgery. But fluids I have no issues with at all. I'm also 15/16 months post surgery by the way. Weird how some of us have issues with certain things while others don't. Like my friends have issues with beef and pork, and I'm like totally fine with it now. Or for me I'm still having issues with body temps, yet a friend of mines who had her surgery a good 7 months before me has no issues with body temps. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

Thanks for this post. I plan on taking some of the information you have here and creating a workout spreadsheet that I can use to track my weekly workouts over the next 8 weeks. Hopefully I'll start to see an increase in strength and more definition. Especially in my arms (triceps mainly). -

Anyone have bad leg cramps?
BigTink2LilTink replied to rgallardo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
As someone else had said look at a potassium supplement. I did that for the first like 60 days after talking to my doctor about it. I stopped having crapping, achey, weak feeling legs after I did that. And I was walking daily at that time too. I was able to get at the 2 month post surgery mark about 1 1/2 miles in a day. Now 15 months out I'm getting about 3 to 5 miles of walking in a day if nothing (exercise related) else. -
